We renovated our house from top to bottom and Pat helped us by not only providing eaves trough and down-spouts but assisting with the overall aesthetics of the house. We had damage to a piece of eaves trough in a horrible wind-storm due to falling tree branches and Pat replaced the piece for us without any trouble. He is reliable and great to work with!

Pat is a very reliable man. His quote is the most reasonable one compared to other companies. His men did tremendous job and I will surely recommend him to my friends and families. Thank you Pat for the job well done!

Pat was very personable and professional. He showed up on time for our appointment and was able to price the job out on the spot. His quote was in the middle compared to others I received. He made some great recommendations which I accepted as he seemed very knowledgeable and honest. He started and completed the job on the day he promised. Part of the job required the removal of an old style leaf guard system. Pat called me at work on the day his crew was working to advise that the old leaf guard is more work than expected and more difficult to remove. He did not ask for more money to remove it but indicated that some shingles will be ruined as a result. He knew someone that could do the work and he estimated it would cost about $450. It was prime roofing season and Pat was able to get his friend to do my small job within 2 days. When Pat came to collect the remainder of his payment he informed me that the roofing job was less than expected ($300). I think this was very honest of him. I would recommend Pat without hesitation to friends and family.

Blackstar was recommended by a family member, and after reviewing the extent of the job with Pat, he made some suggestions as to altering the position of some downspouts. I agreed to the changes, and he completed the work as agreed, when promised. His pricing was in the middle of all the other quotes I received, but because of the recommendation from family, and his good communication/customer service skills won him the job. (I received lower estimates, but they just didn't "feel right"). Cleanup was excellent, and I would recommend him without hesitation.

I contacted many aluminum companies looking to replace my eavestrough and found Pat from Blackstar Aluminum to be the most courteous and knowledgable contractor from all of the 3 other aluminum companies. Blackstar was timely and neat and finished the job quickly. I would recommend him to family and freinds.

Pat the owner kept his word and came in on the specific day he told me and job was done in a proffessional and timely manner. Work looks great and guys did a very clean job and price was reasonable compared to other quotes. Would deffinetly recommend Blackstar!

I called various contractors to provide me with estimates to replace my eavestroughs. Blackstar provided the lowest estimate, so I decided to use them. The new eavestroughs were installed and I have not had any issues with the quality of the work

What started out great, ended a bit disappointing. Pat (the head guy) was so personable and knowledgable I automatically felt like my project would be in good hands . He responded very quickly and quoted a fair and reasonable price for my project. He even went above and beyond by helping me secure additional services from an external resources (an added feature to my eaves to include pot lights). And now, a year later, I'm quite happy with final results - my eaves/gutter and pot lights look great. However, I think its important to note that I was very dissatisfied with the mess that was left around my home once the job was done. I'm still picking up screws and shards of metal, which is extremely troubling particularly because I have small children who run around constantly outside. What's even more incredible is that shortly after the workers left the premises, my neighbor and I found my recycle bin full of waste materials from the job. We spend a good couple of hours empting the bin and properly disposing of the materials. Not good - nope not at all. So all though it started well and the final results were good, I can't recommend this company. Unfortunately it is lacking in offering the complete package.

If you are looking to have water problems where you never had them before, ice forming all winter from no ventilation in the soffits, poorly sloped, leaking troughs . . .THESE ARE YOUR GUYS!!! These “new” troughs are just over a year old and the whole mess has to be replaced. At our cost. Not to mention the damage to the basement from the water and ice backing up and finding its way into the walls, or the roof repairs we’ll have to do to fix the damage from heat being trapped (no vents installed under the soffit) and the wood warping. If I can save 1 person from the problems we encountered since dealing with Blackstar Aluminum, this review will be worth it. While the head guy, Pat, is a personable fellow, he’s not the one who does the work. But he is the one you will be arguing with to try and get things done right. Do yourself a favour – find a company (any other company!) that installs seamless troughs . . . . and save the grief and damage to your home. I wish we had.
