Typical trade: unreliable, delays, overcharge and poor follow up. It was a negative a experience; I would never use them again. The reviews here must be mostly friends and family.

We had excellent,fair and friendly work on 2 projects to renovate a 30 year old house. They did such an excellent job on improving the lighting in the laundry that we had them come back to a dome the same thing in the kitchen.The advice on the projects was very much appreciated.

We moved to North Vancouver from Ontario in June 2013. We bought a 25-year old home, which did not have wiring on the second floor to accommodate an office. We also needed a bit of work in two other rooms. After looking for a local electrician on the north shore, we found Coast Mountain Electric.

First, after I explained my requirements over the phone, John explained the details of the engagement, what to expect, etc. He was genuinely friendly, and answered all my questions. We scheduled a date, and he delivered the materials a few days before the work was to commence. We chatted some more, and he made me feel confident that they would address all of our needs.

A few days later, Warren showed up. To our delight, Warren was equally cheerful. More importantly, he was respectful and conscientious for ensuring that our new home would not be damaged by the work. He was always on time, kept the work areas clean, and once completed, made sure that everything was in proper working order. Extremely professional…

We have used Coast Mountain Electric for all of our electrical needs for years now. We always been happy with their work and they are always there when we need them. Good honest company!

i needed an electrician immediately to install thermostats before the tiler put tiles on top of heating to make sure they worked properly.

Coast mountain have done work for me over about seven years and they have always had excellent tradesmen, do their best to get there on time and to meet our schedule.
John organizes them well and is totally knowledgeable about the trade and I have never had any complaints.

John employs all qualified tradesmen and charges a rate that is all inclusive of his O?H. insurance transport and office costs with only the material charged extra.

I would not hesitate to recommend him to any one needing good work.

My worst contractor experience ever. John drives a big trucjk and personally never lifted a finger to do any work. MY STORY in 2011. I added a 1233 sq ft extension of 3 rooms with around 40 recessed lights and around 25 power points one sub panel and one 220 connection and 6 outside lights. Johns assistant quoted me around $11000 and the final bill was $20000+ with GST. In addition i had to replace or move 5 seperate connctions AFTER the plasterboard. (nightmare) After virtual blackmail , and a refusal to do final permit work without a certified cheque for just $2200 , then a sneaking, LIEN just for $2200, that i was never informed registered by john personally i was done.
John clearly has lien experience as he did it all on his own.
I did not find John he FOUND me via an association with a part time project manager. I paid $65 per hour for Worker 1 and $59 for worker 2 who was threadinfg wires between breaks. John drove a big expensive truck and never lifted a finger. Just full of advise to benefit John. He seems to know everryone and that benefits him. But im not sure how that ever benefited me. The first phone call I made I spoke to the very friendly owner who juggled things to get someone to me very quickly (even after I told him it wasn't a rush). The next day when the electrician came he was on time, fast, friendly and efficient.
Highly recommend.

Heating pad under the kitchen tiled floor was working erratically. The problem was quickly diagnosed as a faulty NuHeat thermosstat which was replaced with a more current model. Coast Mountain followed up with a phone call a few days later to make sure we were satisfied with the work done.

John and Lisa are a pleasure to do business with. They are helpful and professional. Coast Mountain did an expert, complete and clean job when rewiring our home. We would recommend them!
