Top marks. I am a repeat customer. This company, the owner, the crew, and the workmanship is great. Wonderful customer service and knowledgeable design consult. Highly recommend! Bathroom renovation

Contemporary Bath was an exceptional company to work with from start to finish. They were very professional, friendly, answered all questions, kept you informed as to what was being done and the timeline. The quality of work I felt was exceptional. If I had any more renovations to be done I wouldn’t hesitate to hire Contemporary Kitchen and Bath.

Kitchen and Bathroom Renovation

This is a five star review. Clean, efficient, professional, respectful. We couldn't be happier with our kitchen and powder room renovation. Thanks Contemporary Bath Kitchen and Design Center. Tyler, the owner, is friendly, honest and authentic. He has his own showroom where we got many product ideas. Included in the quote was five hours of invaluable designer service. With his company technology, Tyler was able to produce excellent computer renditions of how the end product would look - great for us visual individuals. Alden and his team who completed the work were friendly, skilled, flexible and paid great attention to detail. They were here daily and never left our home without cleaning up after themselves. Alden took the time to answer our many questions and offered advice when needed. We were very pleased with the quality of materials. This company has been serving Calgary and surrounding area for many, many years. Next reno is our master bathroom. We will not hesitate to call Tyler and his team when that time comes. You will not be disappointed.

Small bathroom reno disaster for other rooms

My wife wanted the bathroom redone. She arranged for it. Enough said.

The bathroom part reno was ok. Just ok. The big problem was the amount of dust and other damage they caused and they made no attempt to control it. The dust got sucked into the cold air returns and also ended up all over the house. Up and down. We now have to put out more money for duct cleaning. We now have to clean the house from top to bottom. Fine dust everywhere. It will take hours and hours to do all this cleaning. Clothes have to be dry cleaned or washed as a result of the great amount of dust. They had to front door open hauling out debris and did not think this would make the furnace turn on and suck the dust into the returns and also blow it around. They offered to do some light dusting.

When removing the existing plaster/lathe from the bathroom they cracked walls in rooms on either side of the bathroom. Then their repair work was less than well done.

Whomever was doing the work had no idea how to fix the holes and the long (over 6 feet) cracks which appeared. When the problems were pointed out we were told this happens in old homes and not much they can do. No wall, even a new wall is perfect we were told. The mudding they did was uneven, sanding marks show through the paint, it was not feathered properly to blend with the existing wall and when you run your hand on it you can feel the ridges. There were trowel marks left and not sanded out.

Their solution was to just mud over the cracks rather than groove them out, fill them in stages and sand properly. The mudding they did is crowned and not even with the rest of the wall.

The painting was done with a brush and you can see brush marks. Not all cracks were fixed. The way they did the repairs means the cracks will come back in the future and you can bet they will not fix them at that time.

Also they had small holes in the mud. The result of poor mudding. These were attempted to be hidden with paint.

Deep holes were filled in one shot. The mud shrunk but they continued with painting anyway. You can see cracks already around some of the deep holes they made.

There are many more issues but that is enough. I have included one picture of one hole of many in a wall on the other side of the bathroom. They offered to fix but the excuses flowed as to why it is not possible to do so very well or why we have to live with the repair.

One more thing. Underneath the floor where they were working and where the vent stack piping is for the basement bathroom etc the vent stack starting leaking. It has been in place for 16 years and never leaked before. They start working and it starts leaking. They stated they did not touch it and are not responsible. It is very strange how it never leaked in all that time until they starting working but it is not of their doing. They offered to fix it but bill us for the repair.

Bathroom renovation

Contemporary renovated two bathrooms for us. Their design ideas were excellent and the workmanship was first-rate. The workers were careful to clean up after themselves and very trustworthy and considerate. Despite an ordering mix-up they restarted the work as soon as the tile was available. HIghly recommended!

Schluter Shower Purchase

We went to this business looking for ideas and a new shower. The associates were extremely helpful and found us a wonderful solution. We purchased the shower from them without any problems. Unfortunately we hit a financial snag, and also had to return everything. They were more than great about it, and I would definitely go back when we go to re-visit this part of the reno.
