Very unhappy with this company, great out of the gate to sell you a deck package and get 50% down and then it all falls apart. I should have been warned when our salesperson did not provide me with an accurate plan to take to the city for the building permit, even though I emailed to let him now the plan would not pass, and sent him the correct measurements, he did not correct it for me and I had to do it myself. when the deck was presented to us as being finished, it was completely substandard, pieces missing, poor workmanship on the siding and all the metal finishing work. We had to nag and nag to have it completed to a professional standard, then we were contacted by email and phone to advise our that we were in arrears on the final payment and would be charged interest, at this point the deck was not even complete. no-one comes to check on the progress, workmen leave tools and equipment at the work site. I feel sorry for anyone who is not diligent on checking on the progress as they will end up with a very inferior product. 3 months to complete a straight forward medium sized deck. The only person that helped us is Brian, he came on his own time to complete the work. So much time spent on phone calls, emails, taking photos etc.. I would not recommend them to anyone and we live in a villa community where everyone has small decks and would like a bigger one. Massive Fail from Caldek and we got to pay $15000 for this privilege. Response to Caldek, If you really want to use this a learning tool, take responsibility, don't turn the blame back on to the customer, admit that almost every piece of siding and metal work had to be replaced, either by Brian or someone else, check the photos, you will see that it was not the 2 areas that you describe that we were complaining about. Do the right thing and accept that a substandard job was done, which resulted in someone coming back to the house repeatedly to correct the work. An apology would have been in order instead of making excuses for your company, and blaming the customer.

We to are using this as a learning scenario. I would like to say we did a quote and a drawing for the homeowner which sometimes the city will accept and if not a professional draftsmen should be hired. We were not contracted to draft plans for this deck and did not charge for a the plan we did. In my opinion some errors occurred when trying to get the proper siding to replace hail damaged siding and siding under the deck which was cut to short by the original siding installer which the homeowner believed we installed. This was not a part of the original quote. Yes it did take some time to find the right siding. The process in my opinion did take longer than normal because the customer travelled a lot. We meet every request made by the homeowner , we finished every item on the contract, we repaired previously damage siding , wondering why this is a Massive fail. Brian just as the rest of our team worked hard to meet homeowners requests and needs We do agree that the process took longer than should have however we know the homeowner will enjoy their deck for many years to come.
