Bruce Thompson Woodwork

Bruce did an AMAZING job on bookcases in our living room. HIs work was flawless and he was an absolute joy to work with. He even came back to do some touch-ups after the house settled. He will be our go-to person for any future projects. I could not recommend him any more strongly.

beautiful work; the cabinet is perfectly fit to the constrained dimensions of the hallway. the installation was flawless and the finish product better that we expected, a tad pricey but you get what you pay for.

Together with our architect, who provided the working drawings, Bruce created three superb spaces for us: built-in library, media unit, window seat, basement benches, hide-hole, and sewing roomCustom millwork - built-in library, media unit, window seat, basement benches, hide-hole, and sewing room. He worked with our creative ideas and practical ones - made wise and prudent suggestions with materials and respected the limitations of our budget and our vision of the spaces. He was also willing to explore new ideas and work with materials he'd not used before. Moreover - his time working in the house was about as problem free as one could expect when having someone move in to install so much millwork. He brought the units nearly finished - his measurements were that precise - and installed them in a schedule that worked well for us. The level of finish is incredible. I can't speak highly enough of his work. If we had another project to do I wouldn't consider working with anyone else - even if I had to wait!

Bruce has done work for me in the past. This time he built me a window seat in cherry wood with pull out drawers. As well he built two bookcases in oak on either side of my fireplace. I like the fact that he hones in on details, gives suggestions, will tell you what works and doesn't, even down to the type of wood when I wasn't too sure. His price is fair, he gets the job done quickly and he's extremely honest and conscientious. Everyone who has seen his work loves it. Highly recommended!!!

Bruce did an outstanding job on two pieces for us. The desk was built to fit into a small study. Bruce's design was functional and funky that really fit the feel of the room.

His work on the desk was so good we had him build a Frenck Dresser that matched a French Antique stand up mirror from Trianon for our bedroom. The piece is incredible and they look like they were built at the same time.

Bruce designed and custom built our gorgeous, modern bedroom suite of furniture, our son's bedroom furniture and our dining room shelving/entertainment/wine storage unit.
We first contracted Bruce to for our bedroom. We simply showed Bruce what we were looking for from a picture we'd seen in Canadian House and Home magazine. Not only did he deliver but he was also able to improve on the design and add more function (i.e. storage space) to it (at, I imagine, significantly less cost than the one in the mag!). He built us a beautiful, 'floating' walnut platform bed, with a 'floating' nightstand, 2 built-in bedroom cabinets and a window seat. Bruce's workmanship, and attention to detail makes for stunning, hand-crafted and timeless pieces. We were so pleased with our bedroom, that we also had him build a bed, nightstands and a one-of-a-kind desk for our son's room as well as a piece for our dining room. Not only does Bruce do beautiful work but he also makes the process stress-free with his easy-going manner and patience.
We've since recommended Bruce to friends and they've been so thrilled with his work that they also gave him him repeat business!
