California Shutters

These reviews are clearly based on sales representatives! Half the sales representatives just use the companies name when dealing with customers. I went with the owners son vince and he was honest with me. he told me it is hard to get a hold of the offices, but that he would keep me up to date with the installation. he was very polite and he kept his promise. I had no problems other than the shutters being a week late. It was not a huge problem because he let me know a week in advance that it was very busy and that the warehouse is running behind.
he was very helpful and overall it was very worth it and i could not be happier.

Shutters installed

Wow this company under which ever name they are using is bordering on fraud. Their staff Angelina and Diane in particular need a course in people skills. Wait till your blinds discolour and try to have a conversation with these two people. Diane left me a message that my warranty had run out at 12 years but when I called back to let her know that they were only 11 years old, she then changed her story to 10 years. I have spent 3 weeks of my life playing phone tag with these 2 ignorant people only to be hung up on today by Diane. I'm sure anyone who has dealt with her knows where I can shove my shutters. I had my entire home done by this company. The sun damage is only on the back of my home, and the warranty was lifetime if you were the original owners. Check the BBB, I wish I had before buying from this company. If there is anyone wishing to do a class action suit, please feel free to contact me.

Living Room Bay Window

I'm surprised of the bad reviews, I had my shutters installed in 2010 and have been thrilled with the purchase. Even when one of the shutters I purchased had a issue with one of the tilt bars, they had a installer come and fix it the next time he was in the area (Which was only about a week after I had called)

I loved my shutters and you really can't beat the price.

Vinyl Shutters and Roller blinds

This is long overdue, but I was cleaning out my home office and came across the email I sent them. Very lengthy, but a good read. (can't recall approx. cost)

My level of frustration with this order is increasing.

I have summarized all our issues below and would appreciate a call from management to discuss.

1. Installation Delays
Nov 23 – Scheduled install, installed most blinds/shutters with the exception of:
- 1 shutter – missing
- 2 blinds - missing
- 1 Large blind available but not installed as it’s too large for 1 person. (One would think when loading the van with large blinds you would realize help would be needed for installation)

Nov 24 – Promised to come install large blinds at noon on our moving day, but did NOT show up
Dec 1 – Scheduled to come install, but a no show again – apparently there were car issues
Dec 4 – Scheduled to install at 6:30, I called at 1pm to reconfirm and was advised he can’t find a helper to install, cancelled appt
Dec 6 – Arrived to install with helper. They appeared to be in a rush and weren’t happy that I was also going to be doing a quality check of each shutter. They rushed the quality check.
-Chains brought for the blinds over the kitchen counter are too long and are now extra chain is sitting on the counter. According to the installers there are only two sizes that the chain comes in. If I was told on the first day that the longer chain would be really long and world sit on my counter I would not have asked for the longer chain. I am also surprised that the chains don’t come in any other lengths since you can have blinds that can be all sorts of lengths. How about adding something like the attached for custom size?

Product Quality
Throughout the house there are several shutters that have scratches/marks, shutter sides coming off, handles coming off

An explanation from front desk that these scratches may have occurred during transport is unacceptable. I would think these should have protective wrapping so these don’t get damaged.

Installer’s assistant insisting that handles are coming off because we are not adjusting from the centre is also not reasonable. Although, the handles should be moved from the middle, I would expect these handles can handle some movement at the top or bottom and any slight movement from the top/bottom shouldn’t dislodge the shutters from the handle. Some handles feel tighter than others. Although I understand that the handles will loosen over time, I’m concerned that the loose ones will further loosen up causing them to break/fall apart faster.

Wow what a conversation!
I can't believe the response I just recieved from Diane.

Scott visited our property late December and agreed that the shutters did not meet quality expectations.
We agreed that it would be best to pick up all ALL shutters after the holiday season.
They would go through complete quality check, fix ALL issues and reinstall within a week.

I contacted Diane 2nd week of January, and she set a date of January 28th for the shutters to be picked up and returned by Feb 1st.

Nobody called or visited as promised.

I called today to follow up and i'm told that they tried to contact me -- COMPLETE ___!
Just becauseIi decided to call after 7 days of original scheduled it, it's my fault according to Diane.

I'm completely amazed at how this has all been dealt with and so disappointed in the complete experience.
But, this last conversation having someone completely ___ is unbelievable.
Everyone makes mistakes, products have issues but it's all in the way you deal with it.

Maybe Scott should teach everyone how to deal with issues...

I just don't know what to do next!

shutters

I engaged this company at a home fair. The manager seemed knowledgeable and measurement was taken.
A worker came alone to install the shutters. His work was so bad I had to stop him. He claimed that the measurement taken by the manager Chuck was wrong.
A second visit was made by Chuck himself. He said that the measurement was correct, but the worker had installed the wrong panel.
When all was done and paid, which was a mistake on my part, I realised on close inspection that the work was also bad. There were gaps at the corners of the shutter. Parts of the dry wall was also chipped off where the shutters were hung.
The worst was that, a few months later, there was a high wind rain, and there was water leakage from the corners of the shutters. This was not a problem before the shutters were installed. Calls to Chuck were not returned.
This was 3 years ago and rain water leaked through the shutters every time there is rain and high winds.
I decide to write this review as many of us read the home stars for review in making our decisions.
I was alarmed when I read that a 10 was given by a previous reviewer.
He must be kidding!

Window Shutters

Another great company with great products. Shutters are guaranteed for 25 years, they are energy efficient with easy maintenance. There are different styles of louvers and tilt bars available to customize your personal preferences. Besides, they look beautiful on my windows!!!
