Overall, not impressed with my first place. I was suprised to find very few reviews of Carolina Homes online prior to purchasing, but wish there were more in hindsight.
Their slogan for Meridian 114 in Airdrie: Affordable, Spacious, Sanctuary.
Yes, overall, originally, it is affordable. Until you realize you'll have to re-do the floors because the 1.5mm vinyl they used will kill your feet. Even wearing shoes in the house is no good. That's an extra $3000 probably. You'll also need an A/C if you're on the main/upper floor. Another $3000. Not looking so affordable now...
Spacious, sure. It's a good size.
Sanctuary. You'll need to run the ventilation fan if you ever want to sleep in during the week. Or get a noise maker. You'll hear all the cars in the parking lot. Not to mention the neighbours you'll hear through the walls.
The actual work from the contractors was pretty terrible - such a rushed job. They don't know what a measuring tape or level is for.
The site PM's also seem to be less than helpful at getting around to your 30-day walk-through. Make sure to get everything you can done when you first move in...otherwise you'll have to live with it.
I would not recommend this company or their homes to any of my friends or family...which is too bad because initially I was so impressed.
