Contractors Masonry Ltd

[DO NOT RECOMMEND] Contractors Masonry recently "completed" work on our front porch slab about 5.5 feet by 10 feet. After two months of work we are left with a porch that slopes towards our house and a failed inspection which was ruled defective and advised to replace completely. Mario justified the work despite the failed inspection, water leaking in through walls in two locations, and rebar/nails sticking through bottom of the slab in the cold room below. Mario did on a few occasions admit that work was done poorly and he was not happy with it but again despite a failed inspection said it was just cosmetic issues. Mario said he had solutions to fix some of the problems but would only do so for additional money on top of the extra $800 he was already asking for to repair damages made when they nailed the form in to the block wall and raised it up. On top of the clear structural mistakes throughout the project there was little communication on when workers were coming and several days when I was told workers would be present and I stayed home and then they didn't show up. Workers left cement on my red brick wall, front door, and stones. Clear lack of professionalism and respect were shown over the two months. Ultimately Mario demanded final payment and threatened to enter the property and start removing items that had been completed. 100% do not recommend working with this company.

Some bricks on the side of my 11 year old townhouse were crumbling. Mario returned my call the same day. He gave me the quote and identified the source of the problem right away. It was a small job and his charge was very reasonable. Although it was a small repair job, , Mario was very professional, returned mu call/text promptly and scheduled the job with a very reasonable time frame based on mu request. After his staff completed the job, he came to inspect the work a week later to ensure the job was done property. I would definitely recommend him.

Contractors Masonry did an excellent job repairing/replacing our flagstone stairs at the front of our house. Mario and Paolo are highly skilled, reliable and reasonably priced. They went above and beyond to ensure that the work was completed properly. They exceeded our expectations and the stairs look amazing! We highly recommend Mario!

Mario refaced our old brick fireplace with stone veneers, completely transforming the look. He and his assistant worked efficiently to get the job done within the window of time that we required. We wouldn't hesitate to hire this company for any future masonry work.

We noticed deteriorating and crumbling clay brick under our 19 yr old home. Mario came out to give an assessment and recommended replacing brick with man made stone as it would be difficult to match brick....We looked at options and Mario came back and finalized job. Within a week he and his colleague Nick attended and completed the work. The work was done professionally and we are most pleased with the result. Both were very polite and answered all questions. The repair of the steps was done to perfection and even addressed some concerns not in the contract. Cleanup was perfect as if they had never been present. Highly recommend Mario to anyone else with similar problem.

We recently had this firm do some repair work for us. The service was outstanding - prompt and precise. The salesperson was very competent and took measurements to ensure that the work would be able to be completed on time - very impressive. The tradesmen (more like craftsmen) were polite, pleasant, and professional. The workmanship was everything we could have expected and hoped for. Over the past couple years, we have had Mario and his staff at Contractors Masonry work on 3 separate projects for our home. We could not be happier with the outcome of all of the projects. What a concept for contractors to show up at the scheduled date & time! Contractors Masonry completed the jobs on a timely and considerate manner. The subcontractors Mario engaged for parts of our project worked in the same considerate manner. All our questions and concerns were addressed to our satisfaction. I hired Contractors Masonry to refinish the stairs on my town home in Stouffville after the original landscaping contractor's work had started to deteriorate after only a few years.

Contractors Masonry Ltd. rebuilt an antique chimney for us, and later redesigned and built our stonework porch. The porch had been rebuilt several times over the years (each time by someone who "really knew what they were doing"). And each time it eventually cracked and crumbled from the ravages of winter. Mario (owner of CMLtd.) took the trouble to analyze carefully the old porch and identify a range of design and workmanship problems. He then created a beautiful new design that would solve them. His analysis was clear, thorough and made intuitive sense even to a non-expert. Mario and his staff were always good to deal with and left the cleanest, safest worksite possible. The design and workmanship of the new porch are beautiful. Contractors Masonry likely won't be the cheapest quote you can get but we learned the hard way that doing things right is cheaper in the long run. I'm betting that our porch will be in good condition twenty years from now.
