Water pouring in through the walls caused by massive overflow of water from the roof - overflow is so great it is cleaning the deck below! Have tried to contact the dealer four times with no response! With today’s technologies there is no excuse for no response. Clearly previous reviews of this product are not great so I now have to find someone to come and remove it and consider installing an alternate product.

Agree with previous reviews. This products works for a couple of years and the leaf and dirt breakdown get through the 'foam' and the eaves overflow. Spend your money on regular cleaning; you'll be happier in the end.

Gutter filter worked for about a year and then got clogged. Asked for my money back as per their warranty but they refused. Took them to court and got judgement against them but they still refused to pay saying the company had no money and the owner/partners could not be held personally responsible because they had the forsight to INCORPERATE the company. Went to court 3 more times but these guys simply laughed and never paid.

Gutterfilter was good for about three or four years. Then the gutters began to overflow because the filter is clogged with dirt and grit off the roof. I have contacted them, and tried phoning. No good.
So today I tried to fix it myself.
1. Clearly, the product itself has deteriorated due to sun exposure.
It has changed colour from black to grey, and is brittle. Many of the "cells" of the filter material have collapsed or broken apart.
2. The 'hidden' side of the filter is thick with black goo, presumably leaf debris, mould and mildew.
3. I tried to wash the filter by forcible flushing with a hose, and all sorts of goo came out, containing roof shingle sand and debris.
4. I hear that there is now an improved product with a different configuration, added fungicide (don't see how that would work for very long). But as I grabbed handfuls of debris/mould/shingle sand out of my gutters, I doubted that any of that would be enough.
Conclusion This was expensive stuff and should work better. I'm very disappointed in the product, and since I can't get a reply from the company I can only assume that they know the product is not as good as they said.
It would be cheaper to pay someone $200 a year to come and clear the gutters after the fall.

The Gutter Filter Canada web site says that you will never have to service your gutters again. Don't believe it. I had this product installed several years ago and now I have plants growing in the gutter filter media. This has prevented water from flowing to my downspouts. When contacted after many attempts, they had no interest in inspecting the problem or viewing pictures, they offered to sell me some more of their product as a solution to this issue. Also, I have noticed that squirrels enjoy eating and destroying this product. It would be a serious mistake to deal with this company!

Had GutterFilter install filters in 2005 - original work was excellent and until this year we have had no problems with our gutters. However, recent storms have had water running over the sides of the gutters on the west side of the house, indicating a possible problem. Attempts to contact the company (3 phones calls and 2 e-mails) have proven useless as they obviously have no intention of honouring their 20 year warranty. Customer service stinks when problems arise. Definitely not happy with this company and would hesitate to refer them given current problems.

In my experience this was the worst product and service I have ever had the misfortune of encountering with my house. The product which I paid them over $250 to install was out of the eavestroughs and on the ground around my house within a year. The sections that did remain in place got fully clogged and overflowed onto the wood of the porch. I tried calling them to honour their "guarantee" unfortunately they don't know what that word is. I had to make about a dozen calls before someone called me back and they tried every possible excuse as to why they wouldn't fix the problems. I finally had to hang up when I realized I had been had! Horrid! Horrid company.

Saw them at the Canadian national exhibition and it looked liked great product. They sell it at the show and also offer installation. I went with the installation option as I did not want to do it myself on such a steep high roof. Everything went very smoothly. I was actually away when they came to do the instal but they made their way and did the install. The product has worked wonderfully. In one area it seems to have degraded a bit and in trying to get someone to come over to have a look and address any warranty issues I have had no success.. Had they addressed my concerns I would have given them a 5 rating, but customer services is quite important and if it was a very serious issue I would be up the creek and would have graded them a 0/5.

We had the filters intalled 4 years ago. At first we were very happy to have found such a product but within 2 years, we started noticing bits and pieces of foam scattered around our yard. It turns out a squirrel was ripping out bits of the foam which was supposed to be made unattractive to animals. A word of caution, the 20-year warrantee does NOT cover damage by animals. The company did come by to check the problem, although a day later than promised (with no phone call), but to be fair, they waved the $380 they normally charge for house calls and for replacing about 35 ft of damaged foam.
