We had some cold spots that got worse over the years. My master en-suite was unusable in the winter because it was 10 degrees colder than the rest of the house, and my baby's room was also very cold. So this past winter, we asked around town a few insulation companies for quotes. They were not the cheapest, but they came through as the most professional and detail-oriented in the process. They identified all the problem spots and how to prevent future issues, and all the issues being addressed was put in the quote.

The work itself was done very professionally. We had ask for before and after pictures, and we could see the differences. The work took all day but no hassle at all. The cleanup was very well done.

We had originally wanted our garage ceiling to be done, but it turned out not worthwhile after they opened to check the ceiling. They had patched it back properly, and gave us tips on other ways to insulate the room above the garage.

The two rooms that we had problem with before the work have no issue now. We're very happy with their service and would highly recommend them.

I have been very happy with the excellent customer service and all the work provided by Affordable Insulation. Jason came to the house to give the initial quote; since we have a back split we have two levels of attic and he wanted to inspect both of them to give a thorough quote and advice. He also inspected our crawl space and gave helpful advice in that area (the crawl space is more of a do-it-yourself job and this company gave us a lot of good information on how to proceed.) Jason also noticed that our bathroom fan was not vented properly to the roof; they did a hose rough in and after the insulation was completed he contacted a roofing company on our behalf in order to get that job rolling for us. During the insulation process Sid & the crew were great, they made sure our pot lights were IC rated and warned us about a halogen fixture that was creating a lot of heat and should be replaced. Overall we were very pleased and have already recommended this company to our neighbours.

I recently hired Affordable Insulation to top up the insulation in my attic and improve the venting. They are extremely knowledgeable, honest and reliable. Not only did they provide superior workmanship, they went above and beyond the initial ask. I highly recommend Affordable Insulation.

We were very pleased with the whole process from start to finish with Affordable Insulation. Jason quoted us in the spring and we scheduled the work in late June. The day of the attic insulation work went very well and Sid explained the process and what they were going to do. We met the owner’s son Jason at the Oakville Home Show. We were looking for someone to check and add insulation to our attic so I sent him email after the show. He responded promptly and setup an appointment for an estimate.

He arrived on time, checked the attic and went through the process with me. As it turned out our builder had shorted the amount of insulation that was required at the time by about half. This was not surprising as we have been cold in the winter and hot in the summer upstairs since we bought the house.

Since the house was built the building code has changed from R32, soon to be R62, so I asked Jason to bring the attic up to R62.

When the time came, Jason's father came prepared with everything needed for the job. His crew spent hours prepping the attic, then it took a couple more hours to blow in the insulation.

There was an instant noticeable change. We should have done this years ago. Affordable Insulation got the job done right the first time, was careful to protect the house during the process and took the time to explain what they were doing while working.

I highly recommend this company for attic inspection and insulation.

Affordable insulation was great to work with. We had all old insulation removed and new insulation blow in and uprated to current code. There were a few issues along the way that delayed the work completion (no fault of affordable). Sid also had his crew redo a section that he felt was not up to their standards...other companies would had left it as we would not have known the difference. They were professional...clean, and showed us each step as the work progressed. I would definitely recommend them.

I want to thank Affordable Insulation for a very professional and painless upgrade to the attic insulation in my 17 year old home. Jason provided the initial inspection and answered all my questions without making me feel pressured in any way. The written quote was clear and specific. On the day of installation Syd and his team arrived on time and worked steadily throughout the day, keeping me informed at each step. Syd even fixed a poorly fitted attic hatch door. After some amount of research I settled on Affordable Insulation as my contract. I tend to gravitate to owner / operator companies and I was not disappointed with Affordable. Jason was a pleasure to deal with and clearly articulated the work effort and cost. Sid and the installation team were top notch and kept me abreast of their progress and allowed me frequent reviews of their work efforts during the day. It is clear that Sid knows insulation and installation techniques. A job well done! I have already made numerous referrals to work team members and family.

At the beginning of 2014, we noticed mold on the top corner of our master bedroom. We checked on

Homestars and found Affordable Insulation, a company that has received many positive ratings.

We met with Jason who assessed the situation and provided us with the facts and what will be required

to resolve the issue. Jason recommended a remediation company that would remove the mold and old

insulation. We went with his recommendation and had no regrets (I reviewed Puroclean Emergency

Services as well).

Once the mold and old insulation was removed, Jason and his team showed up on the day of on

time. The work was done in a professional manner with minimal interruption. Once completed with

insulation above industry standard, Jason took the time to explain what was done and ensured we

were comfortable with the work performed. Jason also made several recommendations to improve the

airflow in the attics (two roofs because it is a back split). Also Jason made a return trip with an infrared

camera so we could see parts of the house where we need to address cold spots.

We took all these recommendations and made the necessary improvements. The reason why I did not

write a review in 2014 is because the work was completed in May 2014 and I was unable to assess if the

changes we made will have an impact to our comfort in the house plus a difference in our heating bill. I

am happy report this winter was indeed comfortable, even in February 2015, one of the coldest months

on record.

I highly recommend Affordable Insulation. I also highly recommend Jason as a contractor as I deem

him to be extremely professional and very polite, making us at ease dealing with him. I wish Jason and
