We enlisted Claude Holmes and Watt Roofing to reshingle our roof in Etobicoke. We had estimates from about five roofing companies. Watt Roofing was in the middle of the road and had been referred to us by a friend who had them re-roof their house in East Toronto.
The crew came on time and were very tidy. I did not find a single nail after they were done.
After sales service, however, has been atrocious. The roof leaked after the first rain storm, and I chased down Claude multiple times and he finally sent a repair technician over. It was over the garage, and I had to cut out the ceiling in the garage. When you looked up through the hole in the ceiling, through the garage roof, you could see daylight. When the technician came over, he said that this was supposed to be the case. After I balked, he did go up on the roof and filled the hole with caulking. This seemed to solve the leak, for a month. Then the roof started leaking again. Claude and Watt Roofing have been non-responsive. When I finally sent them a notice that I was going to take legal action, Claude responded and said that they had been to the house and that it was a window leaking that was causing the problem. There is no window near the garage leak, and I have no idea when they have been to the house since the garage is locked. It made no sense, and my calls and emails have once again been ignored. I am sure that it is just missing flashing between the roof of the main house and the garage and Watt Roofing's non-response has been downright odd. I am going to get another roofer to repair the leak and I am filing legal papers against Watt Roofing. I am sure that I am not going to get anywhere, but it will make me feel better. I would strongly caution everyone to stay away from this roofing company, based on my experience.
