Service & Repairs - Electrolux Refrigerator

Sears Canada Service and Repairs has the WORST customer service ever! I had a very bad customer service experience with your Repairs and Service division on more than one occassion. I bought an electrolux fridge in September 2010 from Sears Canada and the fridge continues to break down! I have had at least 10 incidents to date - and every time I have lost all the food in my fridge! It takes at least 7 business days for a service technican from Sears to come out - and the customer service experience is absolutely terrible!! Everytime this fridge breaks down - we have to throw all the food out and then wait almost a week to have a service repair man come out. I strongly discourage anyone from purchasing Electrolux from Sears or any home appliance from Sears for this very reason! It ends up being a VERY costly venture for you. DO NOT buy any appliances from SEARS CANADA or invest in extended warranty because you do not end up getting your money's worth. Just buy your appliances directly from the manufacturer.

Warranty

Very poor warranty service ... called on warranty for dryer repair. It is broken and am waiting almost three weeks for technician to even look at it! Sears says they are understaffed and cannot book me sooner. I can get on a cancellation list. I can understand waiting for a part but not waiting that long for an initial service visit. I have been paying for extended warranty on several appliances from Sears and the one time I need it ... I am very disappointed with this service. Why pay if I can't get service through warranty? I had a big hassle when I asked to speak to a manager ... "he is not taking calls". I recommend buying elsewhere that has a decent service team. I am still waiting for my dryer to be looked at by Sears... Not fun with kids' clothing to be laundered. Costing me money at the Laundromat.

Leaking Furnace Repair

We purchased a Kenmore High Efficiency furnace in 2007, The unit is still under warranty until 2017. We have had a water leak from the furnace for almost a year now. We have had 4 service calls in the past for the same problem - no resolution. So I made a 5th call. Service for furnaces and AC's was sold to a company called Reliance which is based in the Phillippines. I requested that our service call be escalated - which they did. They then scheduled a service call without consulting me first.I found out about it when I called in to check on something else. The service call was set for 7/27/2014; a Sunday. They stated they would call ahead on the previous day to confirm the service call - NO ONE CALLED! So I called them on 7/27 to find out when they were coming out and found out that the service department was closed and that they were only open Monday to Saturday.

WHY IN THE H*** WOULD THEY SCHEDULE A SERVICE CALL ON A DAY WHEN THEY KNEW THAT THEY WEREN'T GOING TO BE OPEN!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

SEARS DOES NOT CARE ABOUT ITS CUSTOMERS!!!!!!!

When I tried to talk to a supervisor I was told that they were unavailable. I asked on three seperate calls - same answer.

Sears was a great company that always took care of its customers but apparently NOT ANYMORE! The service technicians have lost all the concepts of common sense, efficiency and honor in their work. The last gentleman walked through our house with his dirty shoes on. He never even gave us a reciept for what was done, or an apology!

SEARS HAS BURNED INTO ME THE FACT THAT THEY DON'T CARE! IF ANYONE ASKS ME ABOUT SOMETHING AT SERVICES I WILL PROBABLY TELL THEM TO GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

I WOULD LIKE TO HERE FROM THERE CORPORATE OFFICE - I HAVE TRIED CALLING THEM AND CAN'T GET AHOLD OF ANYONE - NOT REALLY A SURPRISE THOUGH!

WHEN SEARS SOLD THEIR SERVICE BUSINESS THEY BASICALLY SLIT THEIR OWN THROATS.

I WILL NOT DEAL WITH THEM AGAIN!

Kenmore 22 cu ft Fridge bottom freezer

Bottom Freezer Fridge two door, stopped working, lights on but no compressor, control showing two dashes - -. Googled this code, module is dead. 1 1/2 year old fridge, Sears home service told me the fridge is out of warranty , go to yellow pages for a fix , good bye. I thought that the compressor had a 5 year warranty, but NO!. Just 1 year. So $260 later its working again with a new control modul. Sears is not what it used to be!! BEWARE!

Heat Pump

I bought a heat pump from Sears in 2008 and the warranty ended at the end of last year. No problem, I called them up willing to pay for service on my unit as the air conditioner wasn't working this summer. They told me they won't service their own product without a protection plan. This is their own product and I was willing to pay for the service call. They also won't sell me a protection plan until I have it serviced. I called a couple of local repair companies who refuses to touch any Sears products. Both say Sears is in major turmoil and no longer service any of their products themselves. They now sub-contract EVERYTHING out. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM SEARS as they could go belly-up at any point and you will be left with a piece of $?&*! like I am holding.

Mattress

This company has the worst warranty policies on mattresses! We have 3 years left on our warranty but they will not replaced our caving in mattress because it has a small stain on it. The stain has nothing to do with the fact the mattress is caving in! On top of it, they took 2 months to for them come to this solution. I was constantly transfered to different departments and was disconnected numerous times. I have never received such horrible service in my life. We purchased this thinking that it would last more than 7 years, unfortunately we cannot even sleep on it now as it causes us great back pain. I highly recommend you do not purchase anything from this company as it will only lead to disappointment.

lawn tractor battery replacemement

Sears Sucks! Ordered a battery for lawn tractor that you can only get from Sears in early May. It was to be del's to Barrie Parts in 3-5 days. 6wks later, 5 different stories and still don't have battery!!

Repair to Washer

Called on May 5 to have washer repaired under maintenance agreement. Tech came out on May 12 but not able to fix as he had no parts. From May 12 many calls made and different dates promised. Earliest they can fix it is June 17..this 6+ weeks?? Today is May 27. Had to pay someone else to fix (done in 1 day). Emailed customer service for President contact details last week....no reply. HORRIBLE SERVICE

new dining room table and chair

ordered a dining room table and 4 chairs at the end of March. 2014Supposed to received delivery on May 17th.It is now May 24th and still nothing has arrived. Now they tell me it's been back ordered won't get it till August 25th. Don't buy from these people
After posting this complaint about their store, to their credit the management made it right for me by giving me the floor model and a further $200.00 further discount. The floor model was in top condition so I accepted their offer. All is well that ended well

Kenmore Elite Gas Cooker

This has to be one of the WORST 'White Good Appliances' Company that is have used here in Canada. I ordered online and put clear instructions for them to deliver and then collect the old unit. They delivered and then did not take away the old unit, saying that they did not have space on their truck and that there was no record of it. 25 phone calls later and 3 days on, I am still waiting for them to collect the old unit.
Do NOT use Sears Canada, if you want to avoid headaches and a lot of time wasted on the phone. The call centre is based in the Philippines, so you have to repeats everything 3 or 4 times over to 3 difference people as they pass you around. I am so glad that I did not ask them to install the Gas Cooker, especially with a Gas supply.
