Roberge Doors & Windows

I have dealt with Roberge exclusively, and many times, in the past. The product and workmanship were always excellent. However, now they will never set foot in my home again. The workmanship was amateurish and the company would accept no responsibility for the shoddy work. We even had to finish the caulking job (and this after the installer had come back to repair his work) outside ourselves as some spots were left without caulking! And the caulking that was applied is an absolute mess, with globs protruding in many spots. Today, a contractor whom I hired to repair some damage they did and did not bother to repair outside, said he had rarely seen such a bad installation job from a contractors point of view. Also, three of the windows were not measured properly, with the result that you could see the shadow of the previous frame. We were told to paint over it - so we had to repaint the entire room! I will NEVER deal with this company again!

Roberge replaced 8 windows and a main front door in our 65 year old house in three separate projects over 3 years. The windows being replaced were of poor quality and poorly installed by a well advertised, at the time, local company several years previously.

the basement window on my house was installed by this company 9 years ago but the installation was not completed properly and the window allowed water entry. For whatever reason, corrective action was never undertaken.
This year I decided to approach the company to see if the problem could be fixed as we will soon be selling the house.
After a few phone calls and one visit by an technician, the company undertook to replace the faulty window and complete the installation at no cost to me.
I want to note that the installer - Bruno - did an excellent job! This company can be cited as an example of how a business should operate and stand behind their product and the services they provide.
5 stars to Roberge for exemplary business ethics and to Bruno for top notch work!

Terrible experience.

Installed a door and transom in a new addition. Even when it was first installed, it was extremely tight and you had to push hard in order to open and close. As the weather warmed we are now unable to open the door.

We contacted Roberge in order to have them come back and they claimed the problem was due to movement in the addition and would only fix the problem if we paid them more. There has been no other signs of movement in the addition: there have been no cracks and all the other doors work seamlessly. Of course the more likely explanation is that it was installed too tight to begin with and the change in temperature made it impossible to open.

Our experience has been awful. We have some experience with other door and window installers in the city. My advice is to use them instead.

After 15 years we changed our front entrance and garage doors, out of the Nepean store, and Annick was absolutely wonderful. The product that we selected was very high quality, and the installation was professional. Highly recommended!

We had three older windows replaced by Roberge 5 years ago and were very satisfied with the initial result. 1 year in, the film between the glass in 2 panes starting getting unglued, leaving very visible bubbles inside the panes. We had to pay 120$ service fee to get those replaced. A bit over 4 years later now and 6/9 panes have failed, one after the other at the cost of 120$ per "service call". It takes a lot of haggling for them to call back. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

In 2004, I replaced almost all windows in my house, frames and windows which cost me over $20,000. Back then, we already had install issues amongst other lots of little issues. This is not the problem but only the prelude to today. Fast forward, 13 years later, we now have windows that are failing...I quickly find out that the windows are guaranteed for 20 yrs but the Argon only 10yrs. The representative, Patrick, came to the house quickly enough (within 2 days) and explained to me that today, the Argon is guaranteed for 20 but only if you replace the whole window and 10 years again if only the thermal pane?? It is their product to start with so this is a head scratcher!! He told me he would give me a quote within a week....that was in March, we are now in May. I called the store twice in that time frame with no action on their part. Do not do business with Roberge (specifically in Gatineau). They do not back their own product and they don't even call you back. I am getting my thermals changed by another company....I just hope the whole window makes it to 20 years because I am sure Roberge will find a way to not honour the 20 yr warranty if thermals are changed by another company to no fault of my own.....I am their client and asked them first to change them with no response.

About 3 years ago now, we researched various companies to supply and install new windows and doors into our home. After several fact finding and referrals, we got it down to the final 2 and ended up going with Roberge Dorrs and windows on Industrial Road in Ottawa. The main reason other than pricing was the salesman. He knew his stuff and he was very helpful, and trustworthy. His name was Michel. We had an issue after the purchase and they were there to help us out. Very good service, excellent choice of product and the pricing was very very competitive. I would recommend Roberge to friends and family. They did a great job and it only took them 2 days to install all our new windows and doors.

Roberge are very friendly and provide good customer service. We did window replacement 8 yrs ago and followed up with Patio door and Entrance Door replacement a few year later. Every installation was done well. over the last year we noticed some fogging in some of our windows and after a visit from the sales person it was determined that he window lot had issues and all windows are being replaced under warranty.

Too bad for the manufacturers defect but Great Warranty and customer service.
