The job was priced based on the job, not on the length of time it would take. I appreciated that i would be able to ask questions, and this would not delay him completing the job, thus ending up costing me money. He was informative and kind. Despite the fact it was dinner time on Saturday he did not appear that we were inconveniencing him by having him out to our house. Arrived in the time period they indicated.

Karen, you make a very good point. Time and material billing (T&M)is still used extensively in the service industry, which means the customer's costs continue to increase the longer the repair takes. You can see how a company might benefit by sending their slowest or most inexperienced technician to the job. Everyone is watching the clock - but for different reasons. When the tasks are quoted up front (and ours always are) the customer can relax and allow the technician to do a great job for them. It makes for a much better service experience.
