Mitre Saw Tune-up

These guys couldn't be less interested in my business. In fact, it's a major inconvenience for them. Dropped the saw off just after Christmas and the guys behind the counter looked really put out. You have to ask for EVERYTHING (hourly rate, do they provide an estimate first, do I have to pay for that, etc.). I left it with them so I asked when I should come back to get it. That question got lots laughter and eye rolls, plus a big story about how the holidays had set them back. They finally revealed that it would be at least two weeks just for an estimate. I guess I was supposed to know that somehow. They called in a week with an estimate (I guess things got less busy) and needed my consent to proceed. That would be the only call I would get. I finally got the saw back today after almost two months - I called them to find out if it was ready (you have to ask for EVERYTHING). It took the guy forever to find it when I got there but no apologies, thanks for the business, nothing like that. After a few uses, the saw slides a little better than it did so the tune-up is satisfactory, just didn't like the way they handled my business.

Approximate cost of services:
$85.00

It took the guy forever to find it when I got there but no apologies, thanks for the business, nothing like that. I wasn't too worried because although nothing steams me like crappy service, all I cared about was the condition of the saw. Haven't cut with it yet, but the thing barely slides. I'm going to have to lube it before I can use it. Not really what they did, all the bill states is that they charge $75/hr for labour and that's what it cost (plus tax). I'd call them to give them my opinion but they never answer the phone, and they clearly don't care. There are so many great tool brands out there, if you have a Makita, skip the tune-up and put the $85 toward a new saw.
