First, the technician arrived first thing, which was a lovely surprise. Not only that he was poised to do the job he had been called for, to remove a gas range and put it into another room while the floor is being repaired.
What should have been simple turned into a two man versus one machine struggle. (Spoiler alert: the men won.)
This man was unstoppable. He came to do the job. The machine balked, would not be moved. He read the manual. He tried other avenues from his experience. Still nothing. Time for reinforcements.
Another technician arrived a few minutes later and they put together their brains and brawn in a way AI cannot do. They searched for shut off valves and eventually had to turn off the gas at source. It took the better part of 2 hours but the machine finally heaved a sign of surrender and the men manoeuvred it into the next room. One sealed the gas intake and checked for bubbles.
Eventually he returned to where he had been called from and the first tech tested the gas pipe a second time to make sure there was no leakage.
He made sure all the gas appliances were working properly, ensured the range parts were in a safe place for replacement, settled the bill and ensured there was no other issue.
These men are unsung heroes. What great attitudes! How blessed are the clients and the company to have people of this caliber working on their behalf.
