Three Little Pigs Masonry

I went for a company with a name like this because I feel that with humour comes intelligence, and in this case one thinks of that third pig with the attribute of knowing how to put in honest hard work. This is exactly what I found. The company sent out an intelligent assessor and intelligent and hard working staff. Everyone was good humoured and very, very considerate. When I have another masonry job to do, I will call this company because they do a good job.

TLP did a great job re-pointing the bricks on my 100+ year old home. Their guys were professional, came on time, cleaned up after themselves and most of all, did an excellent job. I'm glad I hired a firm with a real mason rather than a handyman operation to do this job.

Last April 2017 I hired Three Little Pigs Masonry to install new flagstone to our front steps and our side steps. They we also hired to repair and parge the foundation of our house. Their team did a fantastic job and I was very happy with the completed work. I am writing this review a year later because of the good customer service I received recently and wanted to share.
As the snow melted away I noticed she cracks under both sides of the steps. I was advised that the concrete moving under the flagstone caused the cracks to appear along side of the steps. This was not a fault with their teams work however they would come and repair the cracks as a commitment to their customer service.
Our repair job was added to the work schedule and as soon as the weather cooperated a member of their ream came and replied the cracks quickly. I have attached some photos so you can see for yourself the quality of work that Three Little Pigs Masonry produces. I often get compliments on how nice our steps and parging looks.

While looking for quotes to get some spalling brick repaired, we found that Three Little Pigs was one of the highest rated companies on Homestars.com. We submitted a request for quote and sent some photos in order to give 3LP the best idea of our situation. Shortly after we heard back from them and received a very reasonable quote for the work with a 10% deposit. Unfortunately the weather turned cold, hey this is Canada after all, so we had to wait for warmer weather to do the work.

The contractor who did the work, Patrick, got in touch with us once the weather was supposed to get warmer and asked if the following day worked for us. He made sure that we knew he needed electricity and water in order to work so there weren't any hangups to getting things done. The next day he came bright and early to get started (around 8am) and was extremely friendly and professional while here. Once he finished the job, Patrick asked for us to come outside and take a look at his workmanship to see if we had any questions / concerns before he packed up for the day.

Whether you have a small spalling brick issue like I had or a larger project in mind, you can’t go wrong with Three Little Pigs. Everyone I dealt with, Barbara/David/Patrick were all extremely helpful, had no problems answering my many questions, and they completed the job on time and on budget (No surprise costs along the way! Crazy right?). Thanks to Three Little Pigs for coming to save the day!

Three Little Pigs Masonry just finished rebuilding our chimney from the roof up, re-parged the foundation walls and water proofed our 111 year old foundation wall that had never been waterproofed. Excellent communications, professional service. As a professional engineer I am a very fuzzy client. One of the few contractors that I have used for personal use that met my expectations. We recently completed the entire refacing of the front of our house, which we had purchased a year ago. We found Dave and the Three Little Pigs on Homestars, and agreed to work with them as well as the folks at Will Construct by Design - as they'd worked together before and we wanted a smooth experience given how substantial the project was.

Dave was helpful & responsive throughout the process, and as far as I can tell, the workmanship was/is excellent. He's got years of experience, and it's clear that he and the team know what they are doing. While we started the project later than anticipated (pinning the design was slower than hoped), the masonry once we began was very quick and efficient (aided by the unusually pleasant fall weather). We were very happy with how quickly the stone went up. Greg was extremely courteous, pleasant, and hardworking.

The house itself looks excellent, and we're pleased with the outcome. This was a big project, and the Three Little Pigs were keen to take it on. Other firms either didn't show as much interest or weren't willing to commit the time or resources to secure the business.

Every project has its misfires. We did have two miscommunications throughout the process, both of which could have been avoided with the benefit of clearer communication & attention to detail upfront. Both problems were ultimately rectified in various ways, one of them did end up resulting in additional material & labour costs (3% on total cost) vs what was quoted. The other was frankly more of a misfire on my part in terms of my understanding of the scope of one portion of the job. I give credit to Dave for being accessible, responsive and open to discussing options once the problems were identified. I think the outcomes with respect to each was broadly fair for both parties. Dave definitely made it a point to ensure that we were satisfied. At the end of the day, these things can happen, and its really the response to the problem that matters more than the problem itself.

All-in-all, we're thrilled with our "new" house, and would gladly recommend the Three Little Pigs to anyone considering working with them. We have additional work that we need to do over the years, and they will be our first call.

From beginning to end the hiring of Three Little Pigs was a great choice for us. Extremely professional, they got back to me quickly with a quote and the work was scheduled for the week after we accepted the contract. The bottom part of the front steps to our house had sunk into the ground, causing uneven steps and the stone work and cement to dislodge. Three Little Pigs responded promptly to our request for a quote. David attended himself to offer suggestions and advice that posts needed to be drilled to the frost line to prevent sinking in future. The repair involved a lot of heavy work like removing big armour stones around the steps and installing long slabs of stone on the steps. We are very happy with the careful and methodical work by David and Rob and their crew. Their masonry skills are outstanding, taking the effort to blend in the new stone work to the existing stone work so the final appearance is seamless. We are also impressed by the pride they take in their work and their integrity to follow through on their commitment to customer satisfaction even though the repair job ended up being more involved than perhaps originally envisioned.
