We have resided in our home for 27 years.
In 2012 we chose to re-pave our 3 car garage driveway. After 24 years we thought it could use a face lift. Metro Wide Paving was recommended to us through a friend.
Joe responded promptly, gave us a quote and date for service. On June 25, 2012 crew and equipment arrived and work was completed and payment made.
The following spring 2013 we noticed cracks on the right side of driveway. We contacted Joe and reported the cracks. I questioned why is it that our last driveway lasted 24 years without any cracking and his cracked after one winter. He advised that the quality of the products are not as good as what was used 24 years prior. He promised to send his crew to repair cracks. Two men showed up with a propane tank and torch, heated the asphalt and closed the cracks with the softened asphalt using the back of a shovel..
The following spring 2014 the crack re-appeared, they were longer and deeper in depth. I again contacted Joe to report and he once again said he would send crew to repair. I told him that what they were doing was not fixing the problems only applying a band aid. He did come to the house and said a car must have parked close to the edge in one spot which caused the cracks, but that doesn't explain why the cracks run approx. 20 feet in length and are deep to the base. They came and again heated the asphalt and closed the cracks.
Joe came by the house in January, and told us he would fix the problem and put a new surface on driveway at his expense.
Once again after this past winter(2015) the cracks were again open and I again contacted Joe. Again he agreed to send his men. When they came, again at the beginning of June with propane tank, torch and shovel, I told them that we were under the impression that the problem was going to be permanently fixed and unless Joe was prepared to send them every spring just to heat the surface asphalt to forget it, that is just a waste of time. They agreed that what they were doing was not going to permanently fix the problem.
He called my cell phone on the evening of June 6th. and was angry that we sent his men away. He was yelling and wouldn't let my husband or I get a word in edge wise. I told him we were out to dinner at a restaurant celebrating our son's birthday and would have to continue the conversation at another time. He said he would call on the following Monday.
We are still awaiting the call.
Bottom line, we are a dissatisfied customer of Metro Wide Paving.

It is a shame when a client writes a review and gives us a 2 when we have responded to her every call!!
We repaired the crack the first time- after the warranty had expired where the culvert was, no other cracks anywhere else on the driveway, only where the culvert was.
There was a subsequent call, and the crew was sent out and they were turned away last summer, again, after the warranty had expired.
A car had parked close to the edge and had crushed the asphalt, they told my men that they wanted a surface on the entire driveway.
I did visit Mrs. Morra this past winter to look at the problems.
A driveway that is over 3 years old now, an edge that has a crack, due to driving too close to the edge, a crack where the culvert is, and I told Beverly that this will always happen, even the previous driveway had cracks there!!!
I promised her to seal the cracks, and they would return, and I promised to apply an asphalt sealant on the entire driveway at my cost- which I did not have to do, the warranty had elapsed!!!
Beverly agreed this would be O.K.and than when my men arrived there, the tune had totally changed, all of a sudden she said I was going to re-pave the entire driveway!!!! Really???
The date of June 6th when my brother arrived to repair the cracks and crushed edge, Mr. Morra attacked our company, and said we were not worth anything according to him, this is after we were there 3 times to repair a problem after the warranty has expired. (we were there due to the respect we have for the person that recommended us)
I was angry with Mr. Morra, I told him we were there to repair a problem after the warranty had expired, and how dare he rip our company after we have been so courteous. If he had no regards about our company, than I wasn't going to waste $ 500.00 to have a man re-seal the driveway at my cost.
(Mrs. Beverly Morra could be heard in the back ground saying "No No, Joe is a good guy, and he has a fine company")
She promptly got on the phone, apologized to me, and said she would call me back in the morning..................I never heard back from her!!
Her 2 should not have even been recognized by Home Stars, and I will be contacting the office today to have this complaint deleted from our file!!
It is over 3 years old, we attended numerous times after the warranty has expired!!! What have we done wrong!!
This driveway will not have to be repaved anytime soon!!!
Cracks can appear on asphalt, it does not mean they have to repave the driveway...........give me a break!!
This will definitely be the last time I repair a job after the warranty has elapsed...............clients like this take the fun right out of being a nice guy!!
Take care, next time I will have my guard up!!!
