Garador Enterprises

I began building a new garage in Sept, 2011 and started searching for a supplier for the doors. I did a web search and found Garador. Their website was slick and informative and they had the doors I wanted. I contacted them for a quote and was happy with that and was told to send a $1700.00 deposit to get the doors ordered. I sent the deposit on Nov. 24, 2011 and the cheque was cashed on Nov 29, 2011. On Nov 30, 2011 Garador was taken over by David Gens of "Smart Garage" and was told by Gens that I was out of luck.
You can do all the research on a company and still get stiffed.

* The door took months to arrive.

* The door is so drafty that I've had to re-install the plywood which was over the opening for the months that I was waiting for the door.

* I've hung quilts on the inside to try to keep the draft down.

* There is no weather stripping.

* The fabrication gap is so large that mice and insects can and do enter the house.

* The material is one layer of thin sheet metal that could be cut with a can-opener.

* There is absolutely no insulation.

* The company does not respond to complaints or emails regarding the issues around the door.

These doors may be useful for a garden shed or indoor storage if pest entry is not an issue, but these doors are not suitable for a garage or heated area, or an area that is part of your house.

I was told it would take 6-8 weeks. I paid half as down payment. I confirmed at 6 weeks and was told they were on schedule for eight weeks. At eight weeks NOTHING!! They stopped answering emails. They don't return phone calls. I will update when I hear something from the half dozen voicemails and emails I've left with them. Not a very professional way of doing business, though I've heard the doors are very good.

I do not suggest you to buy from them anyway. Very bad service, you will be waiting for a long time to get their door. They just don't care customers, I really don't know why.

I have been researching getting our garage doors re-done and met up with Garador's owner. He took me through his warehouse and I was very impressed with how versatile their doors are not to mention very nice looking and incredibly convenient since we have tons of storage space now. We have not had them installed yet but we will be as soon as funds become available. Their prices are comparable to other garage door types.
