When my wife and I set out to find an Architect for our large house renovation and addition, we did a lot of research and interviewed many firms.
Our main objective in assuring we picked the right Architect for our needs, was to have a person/firm that not only brought us great ideas but was willing to work with us on our own ideas, lifestyle/environment.
As soon as we sat down and had our meeting with Cynthia we knew we had found someone that would allow us to achieve our objective.
It was very important to us, as this was not only a large project but a very personal one for us as well.
Over the years we have lived in many homes that have had unique features and some not so unique features, that we wanted to ensure we could take advantage of all of our good ideas and do away with the annoying ones.
Not only did Cynthia welcome most of our list, she enhanced them more than we could have imagined. She then was even able to add many new ideas/concepts/features due to the fact that she quickly had an appreciation for our needs and wants.
This enabled our project to be better than we initially set out to achieve.
We think our project was unique because we wanted to take a 1200 sq. ft. house in downtown Burlington that was built in 1909 and achieve the following;
• Keep the integrity of that era
• Whilst doing so have the modern conveniences
• Take 1200 sq. feet and turn it into 5350 sq.ft and still stay true to the first point as well as not look out of place in the downtown core.
These were all accomplished in spades with the real proof being accolades not only from builders, relatives and friends but probably more importantly from all our neighbors in the area.
I have recommended Cynthia many times since and to us if you truly are interested in a very productive and collaborative design process, based on my research and experience then Cynthia Zahoruk is the only person for the job.
