From beginning to end, Chris and his hard-working crew made us feel like we were getting our money's worth. Underpinning is a huge undertaking and a little nerve-wracking, but Chris was extremely clear in his explanations and made himself available by phone or email whenever we had questions or required clarification. CityWide took care of the engineers and permits for the job. Additionally, the crew were extremely hardworking and efficient. The workers had to hand dig the foundation since machines wouldn't fit through any of the openings to the basement - layers of concrete, dirt, mud and clay were all hand dug. They cleaned up the job site at the end of every day (even the neighbours commented on how respectful they were!). There were a few very minor issues that required some trades coming back to fix some things after the fact (toilet drain and minor driveway damage) and Chris took care of these things immediately and responded to my concerns in a timely manner. These are honest and good people.
With underpinning, you don't want to take any chances on a company that doesn't know the ins and outs of engineering, permits and structural stability. CityWide knows what they're doing, and that's you're paying for (that and exceptional customer service and attention to detail). We've already recommended them to neighbours who are looking to do similar work on their homes.

To put my mind at ease, City Wide came promptly to place support posts in until they could schedule time to tear out and replace the crumbling & deteriorated masonry support post in our basement. The work was completed as quoted and the clean up was proper.

We contacted City Wide Group when we noticed a leak in our laundry room. Chris came out to have a look the very next day. We had a very difficult waterproofing job to do, as the was very limited space between the neighbouring house. Chris's crew was very professional, and kept a clean site. Chris was very good with dealing with our neighbour, and keeping us both informed along the way. I will refer this company to all my friends and family.

We had originally contacted City Wide Group to come and fix a window well at our house. They explained to us up front that the weeping tile they hook the window drain to might be plugged, and they told us the potential costs. We appreciated the honesty up front, to avoid the shock later on, but as it turns out, we were not so lucky, and we had to waterproof the rest of the wall to reach a connection for the drain. City Wide was very honest, and we had a sense of pride from estimater Steve, and Jacob and crew that completed the work.

City Wide Group is a very professional company. They provided with me the a fair quote, and supperior service. My basement waterproofing project was not an easy one, but they certainly made it look easy. I am happy I found City Wide Group, and will not hesitate to use them on future properties. My husband and I were shopping around for a waterproofing company to waterproof our house. We already knew exactly what we wanted so it was fairly easy to compare quotes. Out of four quotes City Wide Group was the 2nd highest, but was still within the range. We felt confident with them because of their reputation, and they were very professional. The job was carried out on time, and completed a day ahead of schedule. Crew was careful and respectful of our property and neighbours. They completed the job, and I had to call them to arrange payment, which was nice, because we are used to contractors knocking at the door before the paint is dry, to collect payment. I feel we picked the best company for this type of work.

We wish we never had to do this job but sadly the gorgeous home we bought had no waterproofing and was leaking. On the first day that City Wide's crew came to work, they realized that there was a problem in our house that we didn't realize - namely, we had no footings and that the studs that were wet were actually load-bearing walls. It's a long story but if City Wide's crew were not more experienced, they would have gone ahead with the first step (cutting the wet studs) and this could have caused our house to collapse! We are sooo glad we hired a reputable company that has experience. Anyway we had our engineer check out what City Wide was saying and it was 100% true. Chris was so patient with us through this whole process as it took us a long time to decide how to proceed. Eventually when we were ready he gave us a great price, negotiated with us a bit, and we went ahead. The crew was so professional. Every night when they went the site looked as if my mother came and cleaned it. It was amazing. I have already recommended City Wide and would do so again in a heartbeat.

City Wide Group was very professional with their estimating and workmanship. I found them very pleasant and easy to deal with. The entire job was completed very smoothly and quickly.

We have a house that is approx. 90 years old in the high park area. We are a semi detatched house, and were experiencing a leak on the detatched side of the house. Steve from City Wide Group came over to provide and estimate. We were happy they were able to remove and replace our concrete driveway without having to get multiple contractors involved. My wife and I were very pleased with the work and professionalism carried out by Steve and the crew assigned to complete the project. I wish all contractors operated in such was as city wide.
