Barclay Hunt appears to be a patient, focused contractor - the kind you'd want for heritage masonry on a 100-year-old house. Well, once the contract is signed, the unskilled labour arrives. Barclay's Cdn Assn of Heritage Professionals designation is a joke - probably a social club. These guys gauged out brick using electrical grinders, leaving white abrasion marks on the brick. To his credit, Barclay acknowledged the problem and tried to get them off unsuccessfully with steam, said he would come back, and that was the last I heard of him. The colour matching was also poor. Look at the photo for the evidence. The search for quality masonry continues.

This nasty review does not reflect our skills or workmanship and must have been created as defamation and has clearly crossed the line. The "reviewer" has managed to attack me personally and mocks a professional organization that he or she clearly knows nothing about. The residential restoration masonry trade has its bar set very low. We have cleared this mark many years ago and have worked to set a new standard in heritage restoration. Please have a look at our website www.huntheritage.ca and browse through our current projects or work page. There you will see the quality craftsmanship that has nothing to do with a homestars comment clearly made as an insult to our years of hard work and commitment to this field. Whoever wrote this terrible comment, consider that this is a business and most of the guys (8) that work for me have been employed for years. Almost all of them are married with small families and quite passionate about going to work everyday. Please choose your words carefully in future reviews as it only reflects poorly on you as the Private User Reviewer.
