Royal Impressions came highly recommended through a friend who had used them for a complete home renovation in the past.
We hired them last month for a bathroom reno which included a complete new design and some extra features like heated floors and a custom vanity.
One of our biggest issue was the completion and timeline of this project. Rowan was very precise with requested timelines, very personable and accommodating to any issues we had throughout the work.
They arrived at the jobsite daily at the same time, and left quite exactly as agreed. The project manager onsite was very helpful and informative. We were always rest assured since we were consulted before any hard installations such as flooring or tiles and fixtures.
One of our major concerns, The glass shower & heated floors were installed perfectly with no issues. The team gave us a great sense of comfort explaining the process, design and installation of materials.

Our backyard pool and deck was built in 1997, and by now was looking very tired and outdated. We back on to a school yard and park as well, so keeping up with encroaching weeds and such was also becoming more and more difficult. There were some ongoing draining issues as well, due to the sloping elevation of our property.

Rowan was great to work with from the very start. A quick reply to my initial contact, timely meetings, helpful suggestions without ignoring our needs and wishes. When it was time to review the plans we walked through every step of the project and made sure all details were covered.

His crew was excellent. Respectful of our home and property, arrived on time and worked hard, and cleaned up at the end of each work day. And most of all, they did great work. Everything we planned was done, with care and quality.

We lifted, cleaned and reset all the stones of the deck, on a newly created foundation; built a pool equipment enclosure, dug drains along each side of the house, camouflaged them beautifully with landscaping details, built new steps to enter the back yard from the side yard, and several other small details along the way.
Rowan came by to review all details before we settled our final payment and made sure we were satisfied.

It was a pleasure to do business with him and we will use him again as we continue to maintain and upgrade our property.

During our screening process we met with numerous contractors and decided to hired Royal Impressions based on their knowledge and experience. All quotations and scope of work was very well presented to us with various options.
My wife and I had a few specific concerns that were fully attended to by the management. Once the job started, the entire project was completed without any issues within 2 weeks. The workers were very efficient, tidy and helpful answering any issues that arose.
During the process the management communication was outstanding with checking in with us before certain products got installed. I had a few quotes from some landscapers when I was in need of an addition to my backyard stonework & some repairs to existing work. I had come across Creative Gardens as I had already made a decision on a contractor. Rowan came out to meet me immediately & spent a great deal of time providing great ideas as to how to deal with some grading issues that I had. He priced me on the spot & was such a pleasure to deal with that I hired him on the spot. I had some time constraints to when the project was to start & he did everything he could to meet my deadline & he came through as promised. BOTTOM LINE
Yes, P2 Contracting Solutions Inc. is more expensive than other contractors but the quality and attention to detail of P2’s work justifies the additional cost.

CONTRACT SCOPE
P2 Contracting Solutions Inc. renovated the main and small ensuite bathrooms in our house built in the mid 1950’s. The scope of the work included: (a) preparing the basement bathroom to be used as a temporary bathroom during the renovation which involved installing an exhaust fan and transferring the thermostatic shower control from the ensuite bathroom, (b) demolishing and rebuilding both bathrooms on the main floor, (c) enlarging the main bathroom by removing a hall closet, (d) switching the locations of the vanity and tub in the main bathroom, (e) installing all pre-purchased floor, wall, and shower tiles, electric floor heating, tub, toilets, vanities and linen tower, faucets, shower bar sets, tub spout, exhaust fans, vanity lights, and ensuite vanity mirror, (f) providing and installing glass shower enclosures in both bathrooms, and the vanity mirror, potlights, and built-in cabinet in the main bathroom.

DESIGN PROCESS
We chose P2 Contracting Solutions Inc. (via one of its trademarks – Royal Impressions Design & Build) because Rowan was the only contractor who suggested design enhancements that matched what we had in mind but did not express to any contractor. In addition we are very happy that we adopted all the design recommendations that Amadeu, our site manager, made.

In our first meeting with Amadeu, Rowan mentioned that a step-by-step design approach would be used and that we would be involved at every decision point regarding the design as the work progressed. Together with Amadeu decisions in the main bathroom included the length, width, and height of the wall between the vanity and tub, location of vanity lights in the mirror, the shape and size of the crown moulding for the built-in cabinet. We made decisions for both bathrooms about the location and dimensions of the wall niches in the shower areas, and casings for windows and doors.

Amadeu made seemingly small recommendations that had a significantly positive impact in the end. Examples are the length of the wall between the vanity and tub in the main bathroom, and the length of the shower and width of the glass enclosure in the ensuite bathroom.

Rowan and the tile installer met with us to discuss the best way to lay the Carrera floor tiles in each bathroom, and the shower tiles for each bathroom.

TIMING & BUDGET
The project took much longer than the planned 5 weeks primarily because the company building the built-in cabinet failed to deliver by the promised date. Although the doors of the cabinet were fine, the cabinet had to be rebuilt because of an error in its design. Instead of waiting an additional six weeks, Rowan switched to another cabinet maker who produced an excellent product in three days.

The final price exceeded the budget for the scope of the contract by $3,440.00 because of:
• starfire glass being used for the shower enclosures,
• new sub-floors for both bathrooms being installed,
• additional Caesarstone being used in the main bathroom, and
• crown moulding for the built-in cabinet.

Although the prices for most of the material changes or additions were in line with other contractors, we did negotiate a lower price with Rowan in one instance.

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS
We were pleased that the demolition occurred while we were away, and that a trailer was used to remove this debris on a daily basis instead of having a bin sitting on our driveway during this period. In addition to the WSIB clearance certificate, Rowan supplied a certificate of insurance since we were going to be absent for part of the renovation.

Amadeu made sure that everything was done correctly; for example he squared a wall in the ensuite bathroom so that the installed vanity lined up with the centre grout line in the floor even though this work required more time and effort. Amadeu and his crew were punctual and friendly, and everyone including the sub-trades was polite, respectful, and willing to explain what was being done.

We thought that Rowan did his absolute best to resolve issues before the final payment. He installed higher wattage led potlights because only three of the four planned potlights could be installed in the main bathroom. He came with the plumber on another day to re-install a pop-up drain in the ensuite bathroom.

CONCLUSION
Although both bathrooms have modern clean lines with a feeling of openness, each has its own unique character. Rowan and Amadeu were able to incorporate the concepts from the pictures we showed them to create bathrooms that we thoroughly enjoy. Our friends and family have been very impressed by these renovations. We feel that P2 Contracting Solutions Inc. lived up to its motto: “Your Vision is Our Build”.

Rowan Henry, Amadeau and Korey are incredible people who saved my rental property in the last minute. I literally had my previous contractor walk out on me leaving me with finishes gallore that hadn't been done. These guys showed up so quickly and took care of everything. I originally found this company on Homestars and was immediately impressed when Rowan Henry arrived on the appointed time and provided a quotation and time frame to rebuild the pathway that met my needs. The job was just completed on time and within budget and I was pleased to see that the workmen had been very respectful of the existing plants and damage was kept to a minimum. Excellent results and a positive, respectful, trustworthy process is what I received from Rowan and his team at P2 Contracting Solutions Inc. when they created a whole new backyard for me. Earlier this spring I contacted P2 Contracting Solutions for a backyard consultation because I needed a very long retaining wall that would include stone steps linking two levels of the backyard, a privacy fence, new flower beds, an extensive row of Emerald Cedars and the removal of many existing flower beds and shrubs. It was an extensive job but immediately I could tell that Rowan was not only a very skilled landscaper but a visionary who was able to take my ideas and create a vision for my backyard. His vision resulted in several separate elements that work together as a whole to create a new outdoor space that is not only beautiful but most importantly, my new backyard is completely functional and low maintenance. During our initial consultation, Rowan was attentive and a great listener, he really sought to understand my needs and the desired use of the space. It became immediately apparent to me, that his intentions are always to create the space that you want, not what he thinks you want. Rowan was able to take what I wanted and needed and take the ideas to a whole new level while still respecting my budget. Rowan has excellent communication; after our initial consultation Rowan promptly delivered a detailed written quote for the project and gave an estimated timeline for the work. This excellent communication was evident throughout the project as he came to the project daily, consistently checked in with me for feedback on the work being done and ensured I was aware of next steps in the project. He began the project on time. His team reliably worked each day and they were punctual, respectful and very skilled at each of the components of the job. Throughout the process my neighbours commented on the professionalism and tidiness of the workmen. I also need to state that the quality of the work is outstanding, both beautiful and strong, very well made. At the conclusion of the project I had happy neighbours who felt minimal disruption during the process, strong, well made stonework and wood fencing and beautiful flower beds with armour stone that all worked together in an inviting, low maintenance space. Rowan and his team were very impressive and it was an excellent process from start to finish. I really appreciate the positive process. Rowan is talented and hard working and I’m very glad I found him and look forward to working with him again.

I initially got in touch with Rowan for some help in designing the planting of two perennial garden beds in the front lawn of our home. My first meeting with him was above and beyond expectation - he spent nearly two hours talking with me to find out what we wanted and to give advice on how we could make that happen in the best way possible. He came back an additional two times before we settled on the final design; our particular challenge was to minimize the visual impact of a large ugly electrical box at the front of the lawn. On the day of the installation, Rowan's crew came and completed the job professionally and quickly. Rowan has come back since the installation to check on how the plants are doing, and I am confident that he will be there for us if/ when we have maintenance questions for him in the future. The garden bed close to the house is exactly as I had envisioned, and my husband is happy that the second garden bed is doing its job of taking attention away from the electrical box.
