Durham Lawn Jockey

Three years ago I saw their truck down the street as I looked across my sad and weedy lawn and thought...hmmm... maybe my I should get someone.. and I did.

Since then my lawn looks great, my wife thinks I am a genius and the neighbours dont shake their heads in shame... Seriously though these are great people and dont do high pressure sales as they do everything by word of mouth. Check them out 10/10 with me

After reading other reviews on Home Stars, I contacted this company for help with our lawn. Because it is the end of the season, they are not taking on new clients however, Dina spent some time with me on the phone discussing our lawn and its problem. She took the time to share her knowledge and expertise to guide me for a healthier lawn now and in the future. I have continued to correspond with her via email as I had more questions and she has continued to happily help. Customer service is often lacking in this world today and I can not say enough about this company. We are not their customers at this point or have even committed to hiring them for next season but that didn't seem to matter. This company is obviously just passionate about what they do and happy to share with others. They care! This is what prompted me to write this review.

We have been clients of Durham Lawn Jockey for a number of years and the service they have provided has just been excellent. It is a family owned and operated local business. We appreciate their great customer service. They are always courteous and friendly and promptly address any concerns we have with our lawn. Their lawn care program is thorough with different options available. They will contact you to see if you want to continue with their lawn care the following year but in their professional manner, they do not make multiple phone calls or send numerous e-mails. Rather they rely on their quality of service to bring customers back and it works! We are totally satisfied with Durham Lawn Jockey and are pleased to recommend them to anyone looking for a first-rate, friendly, reliable local lawn care company!

We have been using the Lawn Jockey for a few years now. When we started with their service we had a terrible lawn. Most of our area was weeds and patchy. But after proper and knowledgable care our lawn is now full and green with grass. We recommend the Durham lawn Jockey at every chance. Not only are they good at what they do and provide results but their customer service is wonderful. In the fall we prepay for the following year, so come spring time we do not even have to think about it. The Lawn Jockey arrives and takes care of the lawn right from the beginning. They have a range of options to choose for your needs, they know us by name, they leave a letter each time they are here (out lining what they did, if our kids or dog need to stay off the lawn, and an assessment of the lawn, etc). They provide the best all around service!

Like many of the other reviewers, we had been burned by many of the big franchise companies before I called Durham Lawn Jockey out of desperation. Chinch bugs nearly destroyed our lawn and i was desperate for a solution that didn’t involve resodding. Dina spoke to me for quite a while, providing advice and eventually sending Craig out to inspect the lawn, before we were even customers.

We just started our second season with DLJ and our lawn looks miles better than it did. You can trust this company to do what they will say, not overpromise, and to work with you to get your Lawn where you want to be.

They don’t even get upset with us for the large amount of kids toys often scattered in the yard when they come for applications. A great company that we are proud to support. Thanks guys!

On Sunday I e-mailed and asked to have my lawn checked for chinch bug and advising that I would be away till Saturday. I received an e-mail early Monday outlining the process which I advised Lawn Jockey to proceed with and that I would pay the following Saturday which was all acceptable. I want to compliment Lawn Jockey for their quick response and performing the work in advance of payment. A local company doing good!

We have used Durham Lawn Jockey for several years now. They are an experienced, family-owned, local company who really seem to know what they're talking about. They do not over-promise nor do they try to up-sell services like many of the large lawn maintenance franchisees do. When I have asked Craig about some of the additional services they provide, he has told me that we don't need them. We did not sign a contract - they only return the following year if you choose to renew with them. We have recommended them to family who now use them and are also very happy with them.

I asked them if they cut the grass. They replied very quickly and told me they didn't do that. But they gave me 2 other trustable companies to let me contact. Thank you!

I have been using Lawn Jockey for a few years now and my lawn has never looked as good as it does now. If I have any problems with anything Dina and Craig are there. Lots of construction in my area so lots of weeds showing up. There is never an issue with Craig coming to do an extra weed application. Their service is excellent and would not change to anyone else. First class act. I highly recommend them to anyone.

I was looking for a good lawn care service and was tired of the big franchise companies. I've seen some of the work they do and i was not impressed. I prefer to work with smaller family run companies as i feel that on the whole they are more responsive and care about the work they do. I had been doing my research and found a blog written by Craig and realized right away that this guy was passionate about his work which is something i look for when hiring/working with someone.

I decided to hire them shortly thereafter and it's probably been about 4 years if i recall correctly of using their services and I am very satisfied with them across the board. Craig, Dina and Tristan are always indulging me when i call them about types of weeds or concerns i have with my lawn which has been great.

I have many trees and a dog so i have what you might describe difficult lawn growing conditions, but with our combined efforts I have found that my lawn is one of the healthiest on the street.

I would not hesitate to recommend Durham Lawn Jockey to anyone looking for a good lawn care company. Looking forward to many more years of healthy green lawns.
