I am disappointed to say that I would not recommend Professional Roofers and that is why I am giving them a 0. We are not satisfied with the way they finished or better yet, didn't finish the job and therefore we would not recommend them.
To start, when we were getting a quote for the job we informed the estimator that we may have two layers of shingles on the roof (this was told to us by one other roofing company). The estimator told us we did not and then gave us a quote. We were happy with the quote (not the most expensive but not the cheapest) and were happy with the reviews we had read.
Once the job had started we had a visit from the estimator. He explained that he was wrong and we did have two layers of shingles on the roof. He wanted us to pay an extra $640. He told us we were not obligated to pay this but it would be nice…or maybe we could pay half the amount. He said the extra cost wasn’t for the disposal fee but in fact to pay the workers. The job did not take longer than the three days quoted and when asked why we would be paying extra even though the job took the same length of time there was no good explanation.
The larger issues came at the end. We are not at all happy with the way this job was finished. Three major issues: 1-they did not paint flashing that they had said they would; 2-the flashing around one of the chimneys was finished very poorly and 3-they used two different coloured flashings that don’t match. All of these seemingly small things are important to finishing a job properly. We’ve called and e-mailed and now they don’t seem to be returning our calls. We made the mistake of paying them, expecting that they would come back and finish the job properly, like they should. Currently it does not seem that they are planning to stay true to their word and are not committed to quality or integrity. We are disappointed and would not recommend using them.
