We contracted Academia Roofing to do a complete replacement or repair of everything above the eves of our house. It is a typical 1970’s back split. The job consisted of removal and replacement of shingles, plywood, new roof vents, new vented soffit, fascia, eve troughs, leaf protector, removal of old fiberglass insulation and replacement with cellulose, installation of bathroom fan and kitchen exhaust and removal of an old TV antenna tower.
At first glance the price we were quoted seemed high but we were comparing it to a simple roofing job. When we priced out all of the extra work being proposed it was actually very reasonable and it was one contractor instead of three so it made it much easier for us.
The work took place on the hottest week of the summer and I fully expected it to go slow but they showed up with a very large crew and all of the proper equipment to do the job quickly. Joe the foreman on the job was excellent and very responsive to any concerns I may have had. They were all very professional and we where very happy with the quality of their work and our roof looks great.
Since the completion of the work we have had one or two minor problems but they were dealt with quickly and the same day as we called. This past winter there was a very bad windstorm and many roofs in our area were damaged. Our roof was fine except for one small piece of aluminum came loose. The interesting thing was that I didn’t notice it, Joe the foreman made a point of driving past all of their previous jobs to check for damage. I didn’t know about it until it was already fixed, at no charge. That is service!
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Academia Roofing to my friends.
