Work seemed OK, and, when they finished, they said they'd come back the next morning to pick up the payment check (a bit strange since
we were offering to give it to them right then and there). Next morning they phoned to say they weren't coming after all and to please mail the check to them instead, which we did. After a few weeks they started calling frequently claiming the check must have been lost in mail and insisting we send a replacement. We had them come to the house this time, to actually pick up a 2nd, replacement check, and sign a piece of paper acknowledging that they'd picked it up. They cashed it right
away. Then, after more than 2 years we looked at our online bank
statement one day and found that they now just cashed the original check as well. After multiple attempts to get them to call back about this, I had to actually drive to their office and ask for an explanation and demand that they repay us. Marcin finally called back and claimed the
whole cashing of the original check, after having already been paid for
the job, was an unfortunate accident, with the original check just showing up in the mail after more than 2 years and them accidentally cashing it without checking the date on the check or whether the
original account had already been paid. He promised to immediately repay us the improper second payment they'd taken. After more than a year and a half of repeated calls, repeated claims that a repayment was coming soon, repeated excuses as to why it hadn't come yet, etc., their phone line was taken out of service and, as had been the case for the last year and a half plus emails to them went unanswered. They have never paid back the extra payment they got by cashing the initial check after having already cashed the replacement check. They're still holding on to close to $4550 in extra payment they should never have taken in
the first place. I would strongly recommend against ever doing business with these people.
