Vacu Max Duct Cleaning Corp.

In and out in 15 minutes. Ducts look exactly the same. Service Manager (Jason) / Technician (Jesse) and (Dave) from Customer Service appear to be the same person. This company does not clean your ducts. They are rip offs. I've called them over 100 times this weekend to correct the issues and they kept hanging up. I threatened to call BBB and they said "go ahead, we already have a bad rating" Sure enough, he's right! Rated F at Better Business Bureau! Stay away from VACUMAX - they scam your money!

Had VacuMax in to do the ducts in December. Very quick (read too quick) job and no wonder, only half the ducts appeared to be cleaned and they did not extract the debris during or after the 'cleaning'. Called them immediately after the crew left to express concern. Was told by the crew over the phone that they had removed the debris through the basement window although there were no footprints in the snow. Was then told they used the 'portable unit' although we did not see any such unit brought into the home. The crew person then abruptly ended the call and did not call back. I contacted the 'customer service' manager Jason and asked for an explanation of the cleaning process and again explained our doubts. He assured me he would look into this problem and phone me back. He never did. It has been four weeks and despite repeated calls both to their Barrie number and Jason's number, no one has bothered to try to rectify this issue. Their website vacumax.ca claims 100% customer satisfaction guaranteed. Well, I guess if they are their customer they would be in this case since they took our money and ran. Do not use this company if you are considering duct cleaning. Spend some more money and get someone like Sears who have a nationwide reputation to worry about.

I just received an email notification that VacuMax had finally responded to the review I wrote on JANUARY 19TH, 2011. It only took 4 months for them to reply in this cowardly ineffective way. They never had the decency to phone me back after several phone calls following their 'service' at our home. Yes, we live in Midhurst and yes they sure did not serve this customer. At least they have that right. Same 'black mold' scam as another reviewer. The ducts and coils are in great condition. The a/c coil was not even inspected in order to make such a claim. To suggest that I am somehow affiliated with Sears (I now most certainly wish I had spent more money elsewhere, Sears or otherwise) is complete defamation and a deflection from the issue at hand: the VacuMax swindle. I repeat: DO NOT LET THIS COMPANY IN YOUR HOME. I too, spoke with Jason following their 'visit' and also with the worker who defrauded me. Neither followed up, whatsoever, to make even the slightest attempt to resolve this matter. I also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, a first for me as I have never been so dis-satisfied with any service provider

In order to be helpful and reasonable (I am, and was, already truthful) I would have been satisfied to have some other VacuMax technician(s) return to our home and properly clean our ducts. This would have meant that I would need to monitor their activities, but I would be willing to do that. That opportunity has long passed for VacuMax. What I would suggest to help VacuMax avoid the dis-satisfied customers who, apparently having too much time on their hands have nothing better to do than write scathing reviews and seek out the assistance of the Better Business Bureau, only to be accused of being 'lackies' for Sears or some other legitimate duct cleaning business, would be to actually return calls at the time the issue arises and make some reasonable effort to rectify problems. This would be a more successful ploy, for the success of their business, than slandering a customer on this website 5 months after the fact. Shame.

Duct Cleaning. They came in gave me lots of good advice on my heating and air conditioning and also told me about different filtration options to do to purify my air.

Absolutely horrible company...2 guys show up, sloppy looking and took one look at me and saw 'sucker'. told me i had black mold in my evaporator coils, and all thru ducts, very very dangerous, 900 to fix, but he could do it for $280 privately. walk around with blower hose to main floor vents, then took hose back to truck, I ask him if that was it, and was told yes. I then ask about vacuum, and the other guy said - 'oh now i do my part and went and pulled in big vacuum hose. dragged it over carpet with no protection under it. My brother in law ask them why they were doing things a certain way and the one guy said, i know my job but im leaving since you do seem to think im doing it right. If my brother in law wasn't here i would have dished out $400 for nothing. Had everything cleaned since then and no black mold anywhere, and apparently there is nothing wrong with my furnance at all. NEVER use these guys unless you want to give your money to crooks.

Avoid this company at all costs! After cleaning and vacuuming each room as dust and debris was blown all over everything, I attempted to clean clumps of dust from the air intake vent in the hall. I removed the intake cover and it looked like a before picture NOT AN AFTER. More investigation revealed clumps of dust, debris and even spider webs in both the air intake and the heat supply vents. What a major waste of time and a day off work. We haven't got our money back yet... but a new outfit will be in tomorrow to do the job right! Save your money and time... go with another duct cleaning outfit from the start!

One of the 2 employees - he gave me his Vacumax business card [he is a Manager for them]- claimed he was really with Enbridge and was part of a partnership program with Vacumax. Made recommendations for further work on my furnace, but then told me not to use Enbridge. He could do it on the side for much less.
He then noticed the sticker on the furnace - of another heating and air conditioning service provider that I had used before. I told him I was very happy with their work. He then said that the people who had owned this business (for many years) had sold their company. He then implied they were forced out of the business due to an explosion they had caused.... "I don't want to say anything specific but just look up their name + explosion + December 2009".
I subsequently contacted this company, and guess what...they had not sold their business, and had not been linked to any explosion, and were shocked to learn that someone was saying they were no longer in business. The Vacumax employee had clearly slandered another business so he could get my business.
As well, Vacumax management did not seem to care that their employee was pretending to be from Enbridge and telling damaging untruths about another business.

I had vacumax come to my home and now have to hire another company. Dust and debris blew out of all the vents onto furniture, carpet, window sills and I was told this was normal. I had to vacum the cold air returns and all the vents after they left. NOthing had come out of the vents. It was all over my floors and on my furniture! Keith, the furnace technician told me I needed a $375 cleaning or the furnace would not work again and it would break down after 1 or 2 years. He told me not to turn it on until I had this cleaning. I have a 5 years old furnace! Keith was unprofessional. One hole was made into the duct system and the pipe was loose. There was no brushing or scraping or cleaning of any of the main lines. They use an air gun and blew into the vents. NOthing else! Go to someone reputable and save yourself the agony of putting up with someone so unprofessional.

They were in and out in less than half an hour. They only did half the vents, eventhough I moved furniture and specifically told them where the vents were. They didn't have the decency to take off they're shoes or wear booties. And on top of everything they tried to sell me things I didn't ask for.
I wish I had read homestars reviews on this company before.
Never again!

Exceptional work, friendly service. Additional services available. I also had furnace cleaned and a / c coil cleaned. They taught me about how my system worked and shared some maintenance tips with me.
