We were unsure of many different things as we have never bought a house before so we didn't know what to look or even the questions to ask. Hired Brent through real estate agent. Thought I was getting a good deal and that he was a knowledgeable professional. I was wrong, I do not recommend dealing with this company, either they don't care about doing it right, or they have incompetent people working for them. Brent missed a lot of stuff that was in plain sight. Brent missed electrical wires sticking out of sockets, I pointed them out and he couldn't tell what it was for, had to ask a real professional, after moving in, to find out. Had unsafe electrical wiring uncovered, and unprotected surrounding the outside of house, Brent failed to mention that it should be covered with a plastic cover or something. Lastly during the inspection I repeatedly asked about a whole in the back yard grass, he couldn't explain it, thought it maybe some type of plumbing/drainage or something. Turns out it was a GROUNDHOG! Spent over $300 to get rid of it!
He was a total waste of money,

I scheduled an inspection with Todd at the recommendation of a friend. For what I paid I got an inspection which took a little less than 2 hours on about 1300 sq. ft. and then a complete rundown of the findings afterwards which took about 30-45 mins. After the inspection I was emailed a fairly detailed PDF of the inspection (what was/wasn't inspected along with pictures, some descriptions, and recommendations/advice on how to remedy certain things) as well as a 1-year subscription to Recallchek (not sure what the value of this is but it's nice to have I guess). Overall, it was a good experience. Todd was nice and patient with the questions I had on top of his explanations.

We had Todd do an inspection for us, and he was very informative and detailed. Pointed out areas that were not up to code, areas that we need to keep an eye on, and explained what he looks for and what.
Was a great experience, and would definitely use him again.

As a first time home buyer, I was completely new to the whole process so when my realtor suggested Gary from GPI, I agreed. Big mistake. The home had a negative slope that Gary said he would recommend repairing but wasn't a major issue. Also there were cracks in the basement walls that he said were normal in any older house and would be easy to fix. I asked several times if any of the things I noticed would be a big problem and was told no. Upon moving in and the first heavy rainfall, we found that water leaked into the basement. We have just started the process to have estimates but the first few contractors have said any inspector worth the title should have warned us about what a huge problem this would be. A friend of mine was purchasing a house and their realtor recommended a home inspector and surprise surprise...it was Gary. He is well liked by realtors because he will gloss over problems and help to seal the deal.

I hired Todd to inspect my home prior to putting it up for sale. He was punctual and professional. His report was detailed and accurate. We completed the repairs recommended by Todd and sold our house without any issues. I would strongly recommend Todd to anyone looking for a qualified home inspector.

I recently purchased a 25 year old home that looked "beautiful". Previous owner installed a new kitchen and 3 new bathrooms. It clearly was a flip. I hired an inspector to evaluate the home. I had concerns that the home was 25 years old. Todd was referred to me by my agent from Remax (mistake number 1). Todd was very punctual and apparently had infrared cameras and took many photos. He ran the faucets (obviously not long enough). The basment was unfinished and so I was concerned about cracks and water issues because it is an older home. Todd did report that there is a negative slope grading (which he recommended I repair in spring). He saw one hairline crack in the basement. Most expensive thing to fix would be the old furnace. First week I moved in....shower leaked through to dining room, all faucets on second floor were installed incorrectly, as a result both leaked. One had to be replaced. First rainfall...water in the basement. I called waterproofing companies and all said that it is obvious that there is without a doubt water intrusion and evidence of cracks that any inspector should have detected. . 6 cracks and 20 tie rods need to be repaired. Every wall in the basement was leaking. ONe company quoted $22,0000 to repair from the outside, the biggest quote being $36,000. Another company is quoting $3600 to repair from inside. Also, drywall from dining room ceiling all had to be removed and all plumbing and source of leak needed to be located. Cost to repair that disaster was $500. Thanks to Todd any extra funds I made through buying/selling have all been depleted due to the fact that I had to make major repairs. Also, when asked if there was any mold in the insulation I was told by Todd that he is a mold inspector and that was just dust. One waterproofing company refuesed to remove insulation because of evidence of mold.
