Miskas Roofing

Miskas roofing was working on a neighbours house, so I asked them to come by and provide a quote for me. After receiving a few more quotes, I decided to go with Miskas as the price was just as competitive and they seemed competent after doing a thorough review of the roof requirements. They completed the job in a timely fashion, clean up the area afterwards, They even came by after the job was done as I had a question. Roof looks good and no shingles came loose during the recent storm.

Took too long, 2 days to install a half roof. It was a good job but shingles were added on old ones and it should of been a quick job.

The elements had pretty much destroyed one side of my roof leaving the other side nearly new. I called George, he came over in 2days with a great quote for adding a new layer on one side ontop of the destroyed one, and then was here 2 days after that 7am. His crew continued the job the next day a total of 5.5hours including all cleanup. They use a silencer nail gun so on the outside it is not loud at all. Inside the noise is loud as to be expected. They work hard, answer calls and questions any time. They also do a great job and clean everything up after.

George Miskas runs a top notch company. He and his brother have been in business for 25 years. There are no estimators, telephone receptionists..just these two men and their crew and as a result they can keep the cost down. They use the best materials and tell you that you need to install ice and water membranes under the tiles. They work quickly, efficiently and tidy everything up when finished. We have had two other roofs done and have never seen quality workmanship like this. George noticed a missing corner on our siding and installed one for free. He also tightened up our evestroughs and told us they are good for a few more years. These two gentlemen and their polite experienced crew were recommended by friends who also were extremely pleased. They take such pride in their work as if your home was theirs! We were so impressed!! A pleasure to have on top of your home!

Needed new shed roof. Miskas was working on a house down the street on Friday so I asked them to come over and give me a quote; it seemed reasonable to me (only a shed but larger than most) so I told them to go ahead. They told me they would be here the following week. On the Monday, they called and said they could do it that day!
Not a big job but they had to remove old material that was on it (not proper shingles) and add new ice/snow fabric and install new shingles.
Crew was fast and clean and polite.

Near the end of October we realized our roof was leaking into the attic and down into the light fixture in our bedroom. We called Miskas and got a reasonable quote and he was able to fit us in immediately! The quote also included replacing all cracked wood, new vent covers and new boots for the stacks on the roof.There was a team of guys that came and they worked like a well organized ant colony...it was amazing to watch! The work started at 7:30am and ended by 1:30pm. The cleanup was immaculate and the roof looks fantastic! I would definitely recommend this company for any roofing, soffit or eavestrough work. Amazing!

4 years ago all the homes in my area were 20 years old so most of the homes were having new roofs done over a 3 year period. I'm retired so I would go and look every time I saw or heard a roofer nearby. I must have studied over 20 roofing companies and how they did their work. The houses on both sides of me were done by the same company. (not this company I am reviewing). Both times they took 3 days to complete the job, left a mess on my property which I had to clean up (shingle pieces, roofing nails etc.) and they broke the peak of one neighbours garage by putting too much weight on a ladder to get the shingles up. Their workers were mostly young males late teens or early 20's. The supervisors would get them started in the morning then take off to the local strip joint from about 11am to 3pm. So the workers were unsupervised. I saw other varations with this being the worst from various other companies which did not impress me either the workers or their equipment.

Then one day came Miskas doing the home of a neigbour around the corner and 4 doors up. I went and watched and WAS IMPRESSED. They had complete equipment, a special flatbed truck for throwing the old roofing material in. A equipment truck. And a crewcab pickup truck all with the name Miskas Roofing painted on the vehicles.
They had a shingle lifter that sent the shingles up the ladder to the workers. Their workers were in their late 20's to mid 30's and professional roofers not students. And the supervisor (who I later found out was one of the owners Steve) spend the entire time on the roof at the top. He did no work whatsoever, but watched everything carefully to see it was done right and directing. I talked to the home owner who was quite pleased and he told me Miskas had been $500 better than other quotes as well. After my fourth time over watching I gave one of the workers a note for the supervisor with my address and phone number to give me a quote. They finished in one day.
Steve came late that afternoon after they were finished and cleaning up. He quoted me including the special order shingles my wife wanted (costing 10 to 20 percent more for material than standard.) His price was comparable to others for standard shingles. How can that be? - Well they do their jobs in 1 day not 3 and they use proper efficient equipment they own not rentals.
A week later they were doing my roof with the special order shingles. They finished in one day other than a small area at the back which required 1 or 2 more bundles - that got finished the following week as promised. They did not leave a mess on my property or my neighbours. The owners names are George and Steve and I would highly recommend their services.
