We contracted out the services of Jeff Crouse and his colleague Blake. We drafted and signed a contract listing all parts of job, end date and cost. Work was not finished on time. Cost was increased twice. First because they felt flooring the kitchen meant more labour than they had previously estimated (they had not realized that kitchen cabinets would have to be moved). The second cost increase was for $500. The initial job quote was significantly lower than what we paid and discussion and negotiations with contractors became difficult because of their attitude. They complained re driving distance being too long for them, tile size selected being too small and therefore more labour intensive and that the condo corporations's allowable work hours were from 9-5. ALL of this was well known to them before they started their work.
After job completion our grout was coming off on the bathroom floor tiling in several areas. We informed the contractors to make an assessment and repair as per our contract. More than 4 months have lapsed and they have yet to assess the problem despited repeated communications.
