Lusso Design (Entry Doors & Door Inserts)

I am the proud owner of a one of a kind spectacular front entry thanks to the artistry, craftsmanship and dedication of Andrew. He took on the challenge of creating something very unique that started with just a comment, while looking at some of his other custom designs… I said ‘how about a dragon… could you make me a dragon door?’ To my surprise, he said he would love to try… that’s the thing about Andrew. His goal is to exceed his clients expectations and do work that elevates the industry. I have had multiple homes in the past 25 years and have had many inserts done… on my first home from the van that comes around to the half built sub division to insert ‘pros’ that are in the business for many years… I have seen some cut doors in place, some take them off and cut with improper equipment. Seen neighbors buy overseas generic product from a seasoned sales guy and then have some kids show up to install, finish and leave all within 60-90 mins never to be seen again. I’ve also done it myself and done a better job, as the truth is it doesn’t take much to install inserts like these other guys. I knew all this going in before meeting Andrew and it is precisely what he offered above just generic that convinced me that he is worth hiring and paying for quality. He takes the door system that in many cases is inadequate from the builder and makes it better, he balances the doors for proper function with the additional weight of the insert, he reinforces and upgrades the hinges, he ensures proper seal and weather proofing, he provides door locks and quality handles, he paints to enhance the features of the insert. He spends hours (days) not minutes like the other guys to make sure it’s done right. He delivers quality and ensures satisfaction and has stood behind his work. In my case… which was a custom… he communicated honestly up front that the detail required may not be possible with the quality he expects. He kept me engaged throughout the design process, with his drawings... when we chose the iconic Tatsu dragon as the door inspiration he provided several options and ideas. I get comments about my front entry all the time as no one has seen inserts/doors such as these. I interacted with Andrew several times over the years since and he is generous with his time and advice… I have found him very reliable, quality focused and hard working. I have had some bad but many more good contractors for a variety of work over the years but have never given a formal review as I am not one to engage online, but for Andrew and his hard work…I am. This is my honest review as he did a very good job for us.
