Working with Sarah Kidder has been an exciting, wonderful and fun experience! My husband and I were very confident quickly after meeting Sarah at a Home Show, that her dynamism, sincerity and incredible creativity were the right fit for us and we couldn't be happier with the results of working with her.
We came to Sarah with absolutely no experience with any kind of home design project and from the very beginning and through every moment over the past several months she has been patient, professional and positive with us, explaining along the way the myriad of city codes, Condo Corp. bylaws and provincial standards involved in our renovations.
We told her at the outset what we both wanted and needed from our living space - a 2-bedroom downtown condominium downtown - and she has amazed and impressed us both with her incredible hard work, commitment and her immense passion for doing this job for us exactly the way we wanted it done - or in some cases - even better than we'd hoped.
In the few instances when rules and/or regulations simply meant we could not have exactly what we'd hoped for, Sarah would come to us ready with several fantastic alternatives. Her positive attitude and professional dedication are incredible - and more so in an occupation that is fraught with multiple levels of regulations and limitations. In these months she has consistently made us feel like our home and project are as important to her as they are to us.
And the proof, as they say, is in the gorgeous new kitchen in which I can now make pudding...
After setting an ambitious project for a full floor replacement, 2 new bathrooms and a whole new kitchen, plus the addition of a 3rd bedroom (as a library), we have been thrilled every step of the way as we've seen our home completely reborn with the many elements and items we'd hoped for as well as with scores of creative elements and design features we could never have dreamed of in a million years and which we now cannot imagine living without.
Sarah Kidder of Sarah Kidder design transformed our living space from a cluttered, college dorm kind of chaos to an absolutely stunningly beautiful, incredibly functional and wonderfully fun home.
And through every step of this lengthy, emotional and complicated process she has always treated our money and our budget as though they were hers, she has always been positive, upbeat and energetic to deal with, and she has always, always kept foremost in mind what will make us happy in how we live in and use our home.
I would urge anyone who is considering a design or decorating project to consult with Sarah Kidder. She's like having a mom, a police officer, a financial adviser, a best friend, an architect, and an incredibly talented artist all rolled into one - and all on your side - completely determined and dedicated to getting things done for you.
Her professional discounts mean that most things related to the renovations didn't cost us nearly what they would have if we had done it ourselves - and her insights and creativity are invaluable for getting around the many bumps that come up on the road.
Every day of our project, I have only been more and more sure that hiring Sarah was not only the right thing to do both creatively and financially, but my husband and I have also realized that we could never have been so completely happy with our home if we had tried to take this on ourselves.
Sarah designed, planned, supervised, and made our home so much more beautiful than we had hoped in our wildest dreams and every step of the way she did everything with grace, kindness, humour, resourcefulness, courtesy and truly, incredible, talent.
