this man, boyko, was terrible to work with. everything was completely overpriced, lots of money went unaccounted for, and he was extremely pushy. He wanted to turn my new construction into a duplex, when I needed a single family home. He had the electrical and plumbing designed for a duplex anyway, costing me thousands upon thousands more than necessary.
He was very loud and obnoxious when he didn't get his own way, and even after firing him shortly after beginning construction, companies who had worked with him for years gave me a hard time about ordering from them.
In the end, when I had to order anything for the house, I had to ask the company I called if they work with Boyko. If they said yes, I knew not to bother ordering from them. This worked for me, my house is weeks away from completion, and it was built for nearly $70,000 less than boyko's original budget planned out, for the same material and less sweat equity. I still had $30,000 unaccounted for, but I'm glad I got away from him when I did.
I wouldn't recommend the Boyko's to my worst enemy.
They are crooks.

I renovated and added on to the back of my home. We constructed 2 new rooms and a back deck. It was great working BB through out build. They were honest, on time and on budget. I would recommend BB for any of your construction needs.

We received fantastic quality on our latest renovation. BB Builders and there management team worked with us every step of the way in lowering our cost but gaining full appreciation on the value of our home. We now can add about 300,000 on to the number that our home was valued at last year. They showed up every day on time and did the things they said they would do. We love our new home and would recommend BB to anyone looking to upgrade or build.

Reference check for qualifications and previous job experience recommended. We found out that this contractor is self-taught as opposed to having any certification to back up his stated qualifications. We did take the time to review other projects that this builder had done, but it wasn't sufficient validation at the end of the day.
Several issues arose, mostly related to his poor social skills & lack of real professional training - virtually everything became an argument. It is recommended also that you get a detailed billing for each stage of the project. We were invoiced, we paid the bills but later discovered there were many purchases of tools that we paid for plus a 13% markup on those purchases, and we found this very disconcerning.
Over the length of the project many situations with regard to not meeting building codes and not following the building plans became costly mistakes.

As it stands now, the foundation was not built/formed to code, so we have an internal step that is too large for one step and too short for two steps, which prevents us from legally occupying the home. We've been in the home 2.5 years, and the internal step issue has still not been resolved by the contractor.

I could speak in great detail about the lengthy issues we encountered with BB Builders, but I think the point above speak for themselves.
