GM Contracting

Hired GM Contracting from Acton to do home renovations. Cash advances were made and spent less than six hours at my place over the period of two months. Unfortunately, litigation was necessary and I was successful in obtaining judgment in the amount of $25,000 from the Superior Court of Justice.

We found a local contractor to finish our basement, providing they fix a basement leak. They agreed, promising a one year warranty on their work, and estimated the job would take 2 weeks. Once they were given the first instalment, our basement was no longer their priority. Employees would randomly show up, working for only an hour or two at a time. Damaged materials were used and no care was given to the finishing touches. The renovations ended up taking 4 months to complete. The following spring the basement leaked because they did not fix the leak, and this damaged the ceiling; the furnace flooded because they did not reinstall a hose, and this damaged the flooring. Now they will not return our phone calls to repair the damage as promised. Do not deal with this company. They are highly unprofessional and inconsiderate.
