We recently hired Thorman Reno to finish our basement this spring. The basement had some work already done to it by the previous owner, and we wanted to finish it off to make more usable space in our house, and storage.

Out of the companies we considered, Thorman's was most in line with the budget we had, and after checking out references freely provided by Jeff, and doing other research online, we hired the crew to start the job in mid February. As a bonus, Jeff even invited me to another job site they were working on so I could get a feel for how they operate!

Jeff helped us design the basement to be functional, and to maximize the space to best use the area. He had many cost saving ideas to suggest as well. And he encourages full compliance with city permits, so you knew things would get done right.

After 2 months, the job was completed, and it looks amazing! Guests compliment it all the time, and are surprised to find out it didn't cost twice as much.

During the work, the job site was always left in a tidy way, especially before weekends. And with their air venting system, we found zero dust on any other floor of the house, so it really works!

Jeff, Noel, Sean, and Kristoff were all extremely polite and we always felt comfortable with them working in our home.

Any issues that arose during the project were handled by Jeff, leaving us with nothing to worry about.

We have yet had an opportunity to need a follow up visit from Jeff for any items, but I feel confident that any such requests would be dealt with in a timely manner.

We have several other projects in mind for our house, and our first (and only call) will be to Jeff and the rest of the Thorman crew! And if you want more evidence to his quality, I suggest you check out his YouTube channel to see just how good he is!

Update: I just wanted to update my review for after job service. A few months after the job was done, we noticed a few small issues we wanted Jeff to take a look at. Chiefly a door that was stuck closed with the change of seasons, some cupboard doors that were hitting the countertops, and it looked like some tiles in the powder room are missing grout.

I first contacted him at the end of July, and followed up the a few weeks later in August. Then I was told they were busy and he would be out within a few weeks.

I contacted him again in the beginning of September as I had not heard from him.This time I heard from him a few days later, with another promise of coming out within a few weeks because they were busy. I understand the summer is when contractors make their most money, so I was more than happy to be patient.

After not hearing from him, I contacted him again at the beginning of October. No reply was given, so I contacted him again at the end of October, again with no reply.

So I decided to come back here and edit my review to give my experience. While the project itself was well done aside from our few issues, the after sales service doesn't appear to be that strong.
