Cosmopolitan Heating And Duct Cleaning

I have an older Slant/Fin boiler that stopped working. After trying to get service from a different company and not having them return my call, I called Cosmopolitan and they were able to perform the emergency service, replaced the thermocouple, and the boiler was working well. Thanks!

I got a new furance last year from Cosmopolitan. This year, it was shutting off before reaching temperarture. Mefhooz came, did extensive testing and found it was an issue of the vents not being opened properly. The issue is completely resolved and everything is working great. Excellent to see Cosmopolitan honor the 1 year service warranty and also send someone like Mefhooz who was a great communicator, knowledgeable and thorough.

Mehfooz Tec 2 is very detailed professional gentleman. He takes his time to explain everything about the functioning of the air conditioning unit.

Mehfooz came and did some maintenance for house. For both Air conditioning and Heating. He was fast and friendly. And carefully explained all aspects of his work to help understand what he was doing, and also to help find ways to help ensure that both temperature systems would run smoothly

I had scheduled two appointments with Cosmopolitan to have our ducts cleaned and our furnace inspected, both happening on the same day. I was informed by them that the ducts should be cleaned prior to the inspection, and that there were certain windows of time that this could occur.

They said that the duct cleaning crew's last window for this job was between 1PM and 4PM. I assumed that since this was being done by the same company, that they would coordinate this work. I would have preferred an evening or weekend slot, but that wasn't available, so I took a half day off from my work to be on site.

The inspection of the furnace at a reasonable time, but the duct cleaners hadn't arrived prior to this.

I called the company for an update, and they said that the crew crew had trouble with their van and that they would be here around 4. They then stated that they didn't need to have the duct cleaning work done prior, which contravened their earlier statement, but I allowed the inspection to proceed.

I suggested to them that they should communicate better with their clients when these events occur.

4PM became 5PM, and then 6PM. At all intervals, I had called for an update, expressing my displeasure with the lack of communication and service, as we have been a long time customer, having invested many thousands of dollars with their services and equipment.

The duct cleaners finally showed up after 6PM, but were unable to park their van due to our street's configuration, but the previous time that they had cleaned our ducts, this wasn't an issue.

I was on the phone with the company during this, and expressed my displeasure with that day's events. Given that I was I loyal customer, I asked them to talk amongst themselves and try to accommodate us with a favorable solution, or I would render a negative review.

I waited two days, and called today to remind them of this. I was told to expect a call back, but that never occurred. As a result, I no longer can recommend this company.

Our AC unit broke down the night before. Cosmopolitan made sure to send someone the same day of the service request. Hassan arrived and did an excellent job diagnosing and fixing the problem while being very friendly and knowledgable.

We moved in and needed to have the furnance serviced and air ducts cleaned, the company respond quickly to my service request and had technicians available the same day. The man who did the furnance seemed to do a thorough job and explained each step he made.

Cosmo's booking was quick to get a team into our house. We had just moved in and needed duct cleaning as the previous owner had hair and dust in the duct. The team was pleasant and was very detailed. Even went outside to clean the vents that were attached to the laundry room. Would recommend these the team again.

Very pleased with this company. My water heater conked out and Arshad and Mike came by to diagnose and replace it on the same day. Friendly and knowledgable and will use again.

I've had an even split of good and bad experiences with Cosmopolitan. Their administration is chaotic and takes more than a week of phone tag to set up an appointment, each back-and-forth comes with subtle blame directed at me for not being available at times more convenient to them. They have competently installed an air conditioning unit in the past, and I've dealt with technicians who are seemed fair with their analysis and fairness with billing. However, yesterday, which was something like my sixth encounter with them, a technican took his initial look at my furnace and exclaimed "Terrible!" He explained that the furnace was too powerful for my house's needs and my ductwork's ability to distribute heat. This diagnosis comes after I've had the furnace for 11 years and seen three or four technicians from the same company. He basically threw the company's expertise under the bus. I asked why nobody had ever mentioned this - he said "they only see what they're looking for, once they fix the biggest problem, they're not going to waste their time diagnosing every other issue". Seems to me that if my furnace is ALL WRONG, and he saw it immediately, I should have expected this news some years ago (notwithstanding the doofus who originally installed it, then went AWOL). I asked why my furnace was just starting to exhibit overheating problems now; he countered that it had probably always been this way -from day 1 - and I'd just never noticed. I find this very hard to believe considering the racket it's currently making, the lack of diagnosis by anyone else and his inability to do anything about the situation ("build new ductwork, it's the only real option"). Maybe he's right after all, but I should have known about this years ago. Cosmopolitan, you were OK for a while but I can't abide your lousy customer service and contradictory diagnoses.
