Edit My Closet

Moving from a house to a condo involves a lot of sorting and downsizing. This I couldn't do alone, because of arthritis. Beth was incredibly helpful in helping me sort, dispose, re-pack and label, as well as unpack once I was moved into my new condo.
She is energetic, upbeat, a pleasure to work with, ready to take on any task which would help me get ready for my move and settle into my new home.

I would highly recommend her services not only for individuals planning a move but to anyone who wants to declutter their home!

It is hard to begin to put into words how much the service from "Edit my Closet" has impacted our family, not only in the ways that we organize our lives but how we think about our way of life. We wanted help organizing one of our closets in our home that quickly became a drop-off spot and it was jammed full of items. We thought that it would be great to have help organizing the space and setting aside the time to do so. I always thought of myself as someone who was not overly attached to items and would be able to get rid of items if I had the time to do it. What I really appreciated was the questions that I was asked about some of the items I wanted to keep and the gentleness to which my responses to these questions were received. There were items I had to really think about why I was holding onto them and also that there can be too much of a good thing (for example - how many boxes of crayons does a household need even though they cost $0.25 a box?) Once we got in the groove, items that I thought our children would be sad to give away they were willing to donate. We were so in the groove of getting rid of things that we were reminded that we can keep some things! We all worked hard, the space was tided and our minds were clear. Had the staff from "Edit my Closet" had not been there to guide us with their expertise, we may have had a cleaner closet, but we would still have had a lot of clutter. Now I am much more reflective when I buy gifts for people - What is the purpose? What will happen to this item over a short-period of time? Will this add to their life or just be another "thing" in their home?

The fabulous ladies at Edit my Closet were able to turn our tiny kitchen into one of my favourite places in our apartment!

When I first heard about Edit my Closet's services I thought 'What a good idea, there are certainly a lot of people who could benefit from these types of services', but I never really thought that I was one of those people. While I'm not a neat freak, I am a fairly organized person and figured that the bottlenecks in my apartment were unsolvable. Not so! The women from Edit my Closet were able to ask questions that led me to get rid of things I didn't need and had great ideas for organizing our limited storage space in a neat and efficient manner. In the end we were able to free up valuable counter space that I haven't been able to use in years. And 4 months later, our kitchen still looks great as I've been able to transfer many of the tips into our everyday life. The idea of inviting two strangers into your home to go through your personal items might be a little unnerving at first. No need to feel that way with Beth and Cheryl. They are true professionals and they are great at what they do! I couldn't have done it without them! What was overwhelming became neat and organized in a day and a half!!!!! Worth every penny!

edit my closet is an exceptional site that has always taken me down a notch from overwhelmed to actually making sense of my environment. when i read the updates the site has to offer, i feel i can practically and easily apply the tips to my everyday life and i see results. i enjoy the writing on this site, i think it's consice and a good read. a well done and well put togother tool for ppl trying to declutter and find some breathing room among the sentimental stuff we keep and the not-so realistic stuff we think we will use again.
