We received Rick's name from our Realtor and looked at his website and were impressed by the information provided before the inspection took place. He arrived on-time to start the external assessment and reviewed his findings once we arrived. We accompanied him through the inspection as he explained in detailed why he was doing things, what he was looking for, and if he saw anything that he saw as potential issues. He was very clear about what he was limited to with the inspection and what we may encounter with the house. He used technologies like an infrared camera, moisture probe, temperature probes, electrical testers, and a camera to document what he saw. Everything was summarized in a document that we will refer to to prioritize the minor repairs that were suggested. Thanks Rick.

After we booked an appointment with Rick, there was some property doc issue that we had to resolve first. So we had to postpone the home inspection and Rick was not available until the following week which passed the conditional sales deadline. But we insisted to go with Rick as we read good review about his service and we managed to extend the deadline so that we can have Rick inspect the place. He was joking with me on the phone saying that hope he is worth the wait. Now I can say that he is worth the wait as he did such an excellent job. He is thorough, very knowledgeable, explains all how the systems work, not rushing. In addition, the report is very detail with lots of pictures. Couldn’t ask for any better guy. Buying a home is the biggest investment on your life, no matter if you‘re paying cash or get a mortgage and put yourself in debt for life.

When it comes to the decision to buy or not to buy don’t count on your wife/girlfriend because she’s too subjective to other things and definitely don’t count on any realtor because they don’t care about what you want or what you need, they care only about securing the transaction and their commission.

When you reach that point to make a decision to buy or not to buy … it’s only you and your last line of defense: the home inspector. Despite your realtor sneaking advice to save money by calling in cheap recommended home inspectors … you got to ahead with the best home inspector ever and don’t go cheap on that, otherwise you’ll find yourself with a huge debt and a property that needs more money in renovations that you’ll never be able to come within a lifetime.

Rick amazed me with his knowledge and professionalism, the amount of time he put to inspect everything as well as the deepest level of home inspection detail as humanly possible he went during the inspection, to assure that nothing’s left behind unseen or not inspected.

He uses the latest technology (thermal imaging, moisture detector, gas detector, etc) and is highly qualified licensed home inspector. At the end he provided us with a comprehensive, detailed property inspection report along with tons of pictures.

Wow! A home inspection that took well over 4 hours. Rick did a thorough inspection and found many problems in the property that looked perfect at first glance. He provided a sharp and detailed report on the same day. We used it to negotiate a new roof with the sellers! Don't go with a 'relator recommended' inspector who would rush through the inspection in 2 hours. Think about the conflict of interest. Get Rick to do the job and he could potentially save you thousands.

I'm not sure if it's possible for other inspection companies to compete with this guy. He absolutely covers everything he possibly can during the inspection and does his best to do all he can for his clients. He uses the latest technology (infrared camera, moisture detector, etc) and digs as deep as humanly possible to ensure the home is properly inspected. His documentation, complete with photographs of everything, goes above-and-beyond, anything I was expecting. I think trying to find a better inspector would be a waste of your time. For the quality of service he provides, his prices are beyond fair. The inspection will likely take 3-4 hours - I would 100% suggest you join him for it - you will learn a lot about your home and even about general maintenance items you would likely overlook while living in the house. On top of all the other good stuff, Rick is an awesome guy who is happy to answer questions and take the time to thoroughly explain any questions you have - not once did he seem annoyed or try to brush off any of my numerous questions. Keep in mind that inspectors are unable to complete invasive work during an inspection. Rick is a nice guy so please be fair and respect his word when he says he can't do something (e.g. rip drywall down, etc) - take my word when I say he'll do whatever he possibly can to ensure a complete and accurate report. Lastly, I'll echo what someone else said - if Rick believes something needs further investigation, he'll tell you just that - I like that he doesn't try to claim to know absolutely everything or over-extend what he can actually see through a non-invasive inspection - the honesty is refreshing. Mr. Rick Strand had provided peace of mind with his qualifications and attention to detail. His experience has enabled him to know what to look for. As an engineer myself, I learned a lot from him and was quite impressed with the quick turnaround on the report. The house was relatively new, but he was able to highlight areas which could become potential problems saving time and money on future maintenance. As stated, he only books one appointment a day which allows for a thorough inspection. He is very personable and well worth the money.

I would like to say thanks to Mr. Rick Strand for providing thorough, detail home inspection and explaining every minute details. Before meeting Rick and considering we are first time home buyer, we were under lot of stress but not any more. We are going to use Rick's services for all of our future home inspections. Rick Strand provided exemplary service on our Home Inspection. Went well beyond what was expected. This is our third Home Inspection. I wish we had used Rick on the previous two. We highly recommend him to you. We learned so much being present at the inspection and he saved us money by pointing out a few thing which needed to be fixed by the seller. His final report was thoughtful and thorough. Well worth the time and cost, which was cheaper than the last inspector we used and yet so many times superior. So here I am debating whether or not to pay for a home inspection since I'm in commercial construction and I have extensive knowledge of home building. My wife felt strongly about an inspection so I googled for a home inspector, Rick came up with great reviews... and for a good reason! He inspected aspects of my new home that I would have never thought to inspect and did a thorough and excellent job! The report itself is full of valuable info that any homeowner should have.
