After deciding that it was time to have a wooden privacy fence built to section off the small backyard of a townhouse, I proceeded to obtain quotes from five different contractors. While all quotes were in the same ball park, Keith's was the lowest. When I had researched out contractors, Keith had a very good track record. However, I have noticed that in the short term, some unfavourable reviews have appeared and I have to admit that I got a bit nervous. However, I decided to proceed with Keith and I am happy that I did.
First, Keith took the time to visit my home and provide me with a fence quotation on a Sunday. I had requested this as my personal schedule has been very busy for the past 6 weeks due to illness in faimily. While I hadn't explained this reasonig to Keith, his willingness to accomodate was very much appreciated.
Second, he made recommendations for fencing that would maximize the aesthetics of the fence based on size of yard and the presence of an existing fence even though it possibly meant a smaller sale for him.
Third, he didn't rush the work, he took the time to do a thorough and proper job - he set posts and let concrete cure. During that time he built the gates and panels at his shop which made for a tight fit between posts (no gaps). He even added an additional board to brace panels against twisting even though not requried - it is wood after all and some warping would be expected. I've seen some companies that throw a fence up in a day. I wouldn't want that so I'm glad Keith had explained how he would build a fence.
Fourth, he always kept me informed of his schedule and when he was going to charge my credit card (for deposit and completion).
Fifth, he encouraged me to raise questions or concerns while he and his team worked. He made sure that I was happy with how the work was proceeding and how the final product appeared.
Finally, both he and his staff were friendly, professional, and efficient. The final product looks great and I am very happy with it. He ensured that my yard was left as clean as when he arrived. I have to give him credit for working in less than ideal circumstances as my townhome is set quite far in so he had to naviagate an easement cluttered with junk and improperly sized gates. The gate prevented him from brining in equipment to dig holes so he and his team had dig everythign by hand (and there were quite a few rocks).
I've already passed off his business card to a work colleague who is looking to build a fence. I wouldn't hesitate to recommned Keith to anyone I know. Also, if and when I purchase another home, I won't hesitate to call Keith to help build me a fence.
I'm not sure if I can post pictures after submitting a review but if so, I will add pictures so you can see his work.
