Service furnace/AC and replaced PRV
An assisted review is collected by a contractor on behalf of the homeowner after their work is completed. The homeowner must confirm the text of the review and may make any changes she or he deems appropriate. The homeowner then assigns the contractor a review score out of 10. Assisted reviews receive the same scrutiny as other reviews and must follow our review guidelines.
Just finished our annual servicing of the heating / cooling system in our home. Matthew Ducharme was the name of the technician doing our servicing. After completing the furnace / air filtration system Matthew checked the Pressure Release Valve which regulates the water pressure coming into the home from the city. Normal pressure in the home is 50 - 60 psi. His check revealed that the PRV had failed and the pressure had reached over 100 psi. Had Matthew not checked and simply completed his duties servicing the furnace / heat pump we would have been headed for a fairly large disaster, possibly blowing pipes or our hot water tank. It's nice to hear when a customer recognizes good service. Sometimes good service means giving customers bad news, but we always explain and demonstrate any issues we find. In this case, a failed PRV is something that will slowly affect your entire water system. I liken it to blood pressure. You may not notice the effects of high blood pressure for years, but if you don't address it, you will probably not like the outcome!
