I took my Dyson vacuum in to get the loose trigger switch replaced so that it would make proper contact with the motor module. I paid $50 for the estimate and was called with the astonishing amount of $399 for the parts and labour--saying that the motor was fine. I foolishly said OK because I trusted the owner and needed the vacuum. I asked to see the part he replaced. In the meantime I had checked on the Dyson website (my vacuum was out of warranty) and viewed what was required to fix the loose trigger.
When I went to pick up the vacuum, Abdul showed me the "parts" he supposedly replaced: 1.) a section of the handle, 2) the motor module....!
I did not say anything to him but I knew these were not parts that had anything to do with the loose trigger.
I was very upset at the cost and service and realized I should have checked on how to do the repair myself before agreeing to the repair.
