Outstanding!
Older (100+ years) house in downtown Ottawa, with occasional, localized leakage in the basement during winter rain / freeze-thaw cycles. A total of 5 bids were received. The written quote / statement of work from Mr. Nathan Sally was detailed, clear and well organized. Based on a number of rounds of clarification and ‘what-if’ scenarios, well supported by Nathan, a decision to proceed in early-summer 2016 was finalized. The initial agreement, and subsequent changes, provided an ‘end-to-end’ solution, including partial repaving of a driveway impacted by the work. While some elements, such as paving, could have been handled separately, the ‘end-to-end’ solution worked well in this case. Overall, a clear project plan was developed, refined and followed throughout. As work progressed, two different options surfaced. For this particular job, bringing the driveway-side foundation fully up to 2016 standards was chosen and successfully completed.
The hardworking crew were excellent! One of the very best we have ever had at the house. They were very willing to explain what was being done, and why. The crew were considerate of the neighbourhood (noise, dust,...) and also cleaned up the work area at the end of each day.
Although untested by winter conditions, I am very optimistic that the water leak has been permanently solved. Additionally, the overall foundation enhancements will be a positive when the house is sold some time in the future.
Overall, an impressive effort by Mr. Nathan Sally and his crew.
