I found Mike via HomeStars and the perfect rating he enjoys is truly deserved. He shows up when he says he's going to show up, very thorough and honest in his explanation of the work; professional and his work was top-notch. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to friends and family.

I found Shurben Heating through on-line reviews and he was a good as everyone else reported. Mr. Shurben phoned ahead to ensure nothing was overlooked. He also phoned the night before to confirm the time and again 30 minutes before he had arranged and then unlike our past experiences with others he actually came on time. Mr. Shurben is incredibly professional and it was a pleasure and educational to watch him work – he took his time even when complications kept him until 6:30 at night. Despite these difficulties of an older home his final price was exactly what he had estimated (had to install gas lines in very limited spaces). Much to my wife’s delight he left the work site as if he was never here…Great service and would recommend Mike (and have) to anyone…… he obviously takes great pride in his work….

Mike was a true professional and went above and beyond the call of duty. He also found and immediately addressed a couple of problems. He is friendly and unassuming, and I would recommend him to anyone. His rate was also extremely reasonable.

So pleased with Mike's first visit (Jun 2014 to install a gas line to our back deck for our grill) that we happily invited Mike back to install a run for our gas range on Oct 22 2014.

We planned ahead a little too, as we had decided that we would have an additional tee in the line inside the house installed during his first visit to expedite the install for the gas range that we would purchase at some time in the future.

Well that day finally arrived in early Oct 2014.

Mike and I traded email ahead of his visit and he quickly knew that our range would require a higher supply volume than a typical range. An important detail that could have been overlooked quite easily. So we were well sorted for our upcoming appointment date.

Mike did an immaculate job of running the line and terminating for the range. He then connected and tested the range, leveled it and offered a suggestion for a nice burn-in for the oven itself. which, of course, was great and turned out brilliantly. He even cut and installed felt pads on the feet of this brute of a range so it will be easier to slide out for when we wish to clean behind. It's a 30" freestanding all gas range, but it weighs over 400lbs. A nice little touch that makes sense too.

Thank you, Mike, for another outstanding installation. Again, you have exceeded our expectations...and admittedly, I tend to set the bar a little higher than most.

Mike was extremely professional and a pleasure to deal with. He is very detail-oriented and it was evident that his priority is to do the job "the right way," (even if it's more challenging for him that way). He took the time to explore several different solutions with me, and took my thoughts/desires into consideration in determining the best way to install our gas line. He was conscientious and discovered a small gas leak at the exterior of our house, at the meter. Mike even co-ordinated with Enbridge to have the leak repaired the same day within an hour. The result is a clean, professional-looking installation which perfectly suits our needs.

MIke was punctual, professional and took the time to do the job right. We moved in to a new place that didn't have any natural gas hookup on the outside. Most people recommended running a pipe all the way along the exterior of our house (not something I wanted to do). Mike found the shortest and most effective path from within our basement (explaining his recommendations along the way - e.g. putting it here so if you finish your basement you don't loose ceiling height). He also went above and beyond by pointing out little things that the home builders had done incorrectly (e.g. water pipe to external tap was on a downward angle which isn't to code for freezing resistant exterior taps). The job was done professionally and looks great (hard to emphasis how hard it is to have a slick looking natural gas hookup - but I have one!). I have recommended Mike to a number of co-workers and friends and will continue to do so.

Mike was very professional - he provided a written estimate up front, was prompt on arriving on site and accommodating to our schedule. The work he did was always neat and tidy and provided a lot of useful tips on gas ranges and of course only charged according to his estimate. Would highly recommend.

I have had Mike to my house for two jobs in the past year and both were completed when Mike said he would do them and on the estimate that he provided. The most recent job involved running a new 60 foot NG line to my BBQ as the existing line was too small for the size of BBQ that I purchased. On both jobs, in my view, Mike went way beyond what is required by regulation. Mike not only does the job in accordance with all the regulations, he makes his work look good. He is an extremely pleasant individual and a real pleasure to chat with as he works.
It's too bad I can only give him 10 stars as he deserves more.

We requested that a gas line to be run (in our 1960s bungalow) so we could connect our grill on our back deck. Mike came over and assessed the work to be done, explored and discussed options with us, and provided a clear and accurate quote of what was required for this job.
Mike's attention to detail and desire to make his work speak for itself are very evident. A pleasure to talk with, and to watch work.
We will absolutely invite him back when we are ready to have the other line run for a gas stove (still deciding on which one)...a provisional tee for the stove line was already incorporated during this install.
