We selected RockSteady through HomeStars in 2022. Reached out to Cordell who responded quickly with a home visit to assess our needs. He was polite and enthusiastic, providing us with many options. We considered just relaying our existing interlock; but ended up choosing to replace with a new contemporary stone Cordell recommended. Cordell broke the quote down, offering us many options; but we choose to defer the work.
Feeling the time was right, we reached out to Cordell in the fall of 2024. Cordell responded quickly with another home visit and thanked me for contacting him yet again. Reviewing his quote from 2022, we walked our property and we asked about increasing the scope of work, asking about removing an old raised sidedoor 'platform' of wood rail tie and back fill that was falling apart, seeking to excavate it and to replace with interlock instead, salvaged from our old driveway interlock; along with some corrective restorative work on our interlock and flower beds around our pool in the back yard. His ability to provide advice and willingness to add to the scope of work with itemized very honest pricing was appreciated. This time we did not defer but decided to green light the project.
Cordell advised me that when he starts a job, he would be with his crew every day onsite and that they would continue each day until the job is complete. Specifically, he doesn't complete jobs concurrently, only consecutively. He assessed that our job would take his team 10 days and gave me a start day. He started promptly on the morning of his start day and worked every day until complete - 10 working days later as he had estimated. While we had a couple cold mornings, we did not have any rain delays.
His team were very polite, very enthusiastic, very hard working and never gave my wife or I any hard time with all of our questions or requests ;-) made during the project. We have a lot of pedestrian traffic across our sidewalk in front of our house - with two public schools near and lots of dog walking neighbors. His team were always responsive to all pedestrians, ensuring their work did not block people's paths; stopping any stone cutting saw work any time people approached. They maintained a very clean job site. We continue to receive positive comments from our 'regular' dog walkers since Cordell and his crew completed their work - pleased with the finished results AND noting how nice Cordell's crew was to them!
I found Cordell to be very responsive, trustworthy and honourable. Payment terms were clear and trusting; no upfront deposits; final payment based on our satisfaction with a completed job. Rock steady team did a great job on flagstone steps repair. Took out old concrete and replaced with new. Fixed the slope so no water will puddle in the area that is prone to problems. Cleaned up interlocking stone walkway and capped off damaged downspout. Fixed the slope on another drainage pipe. Very professional, friendly and punctual group. Cordell was excellent at communicating what was being done and how long it would take. Highly recommend.

Grout was failing in risers and on flagstone landing. Calls over 2 year period were made to prior contractor to perform warranty work under warranty and contractor kept putting off warranty work and only attended after threats of legal action made. Upon prior contractor finally attending at property after 2 years prior contractor advised entire structure needed to be rebuilt and quoted what seemed to an unreasonable amount. It also offered to repair and not rebuild entire structure but without any warranty on work , again at what appeared to be an unreasonable amount. I spoke to 2 knowledgeable contractors who both advised that the prior contractors quotes seemed inflated. I was then referred to Cordell at Rocksteady, who after viewing the site and the issues advised that a complete rebuild was not required and agreed to repair at what was 1/4 of the cost the prior contractor quoted for the same repair work and to provide a warranty for his work. Cordell and his team showed up when promised and completed the work in the time frame agreed upon. Cordell kept me apprised of the status of the work and he and his team were professional, friendly and respectful at all times. The end product looked brand new and exceeded my expectations. As a result of my satisfaction with their work on the flagstone I also had them level off a portion of my driveway interlocking. Again, they did a great job in the period agreed upon. I found Cordell to be honest and trustworthy and he and
his team to be professional and hard working. I would certainly retain Rocksteady in respect of future flagstone, patio, walkway and other exterior work. Dan

We hired Cordell and his team to demolish our old concrete slabs and install interlocking on our backyard and walkway. Cordell and his team did a great job, exceeded all of our expectations and made us feel satisfied with the project.

Cordell and crew turned my yard from weeds and mud to a beautiful patio and walkway. They also put together an adjoining grassy area using lots of topsoil and sod. All completed in little more than a week with great ideas for the design details that made it better than I had envisioned. Well done, their second contract with me just as good as the first.
