This is my first Homestars review, which i felt was so necessary to protect others from this s.c.a.m. I paid a downpayment but then I was astonished at the appalling service and bit of work that was (not) done, when the workers finally arrived. After many weeks, Tree Doctors have not contacted me despite an email and polite phone call, despite being told that "the manager Konstantine was looking into it". Needless to say, they have not reimbursed my downpayment.
The hedge was hacked at, not trimmed as contracted, not brought down to the contracted height, and not even remotely even at the top – branches are sticking out all over the place, with big holes. In addition, they left the few bits that they did cut off all over my garden plants. Clearly from the bits on the ground they spent a very short amount of time and didn’t cut much - just hacked at a few branches. It is incredible to me that they could consider this acceptable. My neighbours were incredulous, too. It would seem that there was no Tree Doctor overseer on site.
The workers are not only incompetent but rude: as the office staff was aware, the workers were scheduled to arrive sometime from 9:30 a.m. to mid-morning. I had taken the morning off work to be there when they arrived, called at 11, waited until 12:15 before leaving and they still had not contacted me or arrived. I was never offered the simple good manners of a call to let me know they were going to be late - or not coming. While the pleasant office staff person did try to help, it took far too long to find out what was going on. I didn’t hear back until about 12:40, still with no estimated time. I don’t know what time they actually arrived. I lost a half-day’s pay for nothing.
I’ve never ever experienced such bad work from any contractor. Unfortunately I didn’t notice the bad reviews with similar service problems on Homestars but am so concerned I am adding mine to them, to protect others. I believe this company is simply not a real arborist business.
