I used Pacific West Movers and they smashed 2 of the 8 items they sent and there were scratches on the rest. I had to wait a month before they even sent my things from Ontario to Alberta and then when they arrived my desk corner was smashed and a a 3 foot figurine was totally smashed. I paid $1500 and then had to pay again to replace these items as their "insurance" doesn't cover it as it goes by weight and not value and there is a huge deductible too so I would have gotten nothing for the damage. I don't recommend them at all.

DO NOT USE Pacific movers!!
I booked my pick up date for sept 18th, 5 months in advance. Sept 16th 4 pm, I got a phone call stating that they will be coming tomorrow, not the 18th. Soo I took the day off work, stayed up all night to finish thw packing I needed to do. I waited all day at home, because they couldn't give me an estimate of time other then " before 6". At 5:45 I got a phone call stating that they had a break down and won't be there till the 18th in the after noon " before 6". Right there I should of canceled.. Not only did PW use a third company to take care of picking up my stuff, and no where did it mention this. So 2 days off work, and my truck was fine ally at my door, 7 pm on my original day.. They do a pack list of what they load, it was numbers hand wrote on a business form, with " " box down the whole page, with nothing but the number that changes. A couple times it said "art" or bin. Such a professional way of calculating.. But me giving the benifit of the doubt, let everything i own leave my house.
Big mistake.
In my emails with Sam (my rep), the truck right after it left was to go directly to a weigh in station. Soo I waited an hour, and called my rep. Of course no response, so I called number on contract.. No response. Over bight I waited, nothing.. I emailed, no response.. I sent about 6 emails asking for weight... Nothing.. I called again, he said they (in BC) hadn't received any of my forms yet so they have no idea. Put me on hold for 45 min while he called Ontario to get info from the company they used to pick my stuff up.. They said my files were in back of truck still. No answer yet, call back on Monday (its Thursday now) . so I called back on Monday, I'm getting mad.. It would be lovely to find out what my weight was and how much I was going to owe. Still same run around.. I waited almost 2 weeks to find out my weight! And first she told me 2,098 lbs.. Then called back and said she was wrong it was 2900lbs.. That's a huge difference at .$50/lb. I'm furious.. I call my rep and he says they will weigh it in Richmond when it arrives. And to relax.. "Relax".
So I leave Ontario to Vancouver, journey took 4 days.. I get to Vancouver Oct 4th (I believe), and called Sam, no idea how pong my items will be in yet... Oct 11 he calls and let's me know they will be delivering that morning. I talked to sam and they would be giving me a discount for all the crap they have put me through.. He can offer basically no taxes.. Seriously?
Delivery guys arrive, bring stuff in, not gently at all, a bunch of boxes destroyed, actual pieces of my plates on thw sidewalk, falling out of my boxes. Out of all my 60 items I realize my art is missing.. 4 paintings, 2 in frames, 2 not, boxed together. My biggest package, and heaviest is not there.. I let delivery guys know, they sluffed me off, pushing the paper work in front of me for me to sign... Finally I wrote across top, missing boxes, only signing for what's here that it arrived..
I called Sam immediately. No response. I emailed him and got a response the next day saying they will look at warehouse and call Ontario to look.. Nothing about any paperwork to fill out.
I waited 2 days,
For the next 2 weeks I emailed or called daily getting no repsonse.
Finally I found an email address to CSR. They got back to me immediately, sent me a form to fill out... Why couldn't my rep give me the form or even mention it?
So I waited a week. Emailed CSR, been told they are working on my claim still..
I emailed saying its been over a month already, I'm sure my items are lost.. I got a response today saying, with calculations, at .60/lb my payment is 150$. That's them being generous and waiving the 500 deductible...
So here I am, my paintings worth over 1800, I would say 1/3 of my kitchen items broken and me getting shut up money of $150!! Please dont use this company!!

Moving

We hired pacific west moving and packing services to move from ontario to BC. They were absolutely awful. We paid them a $300 deposit. I was told by Sam that my stuff would arrive 5-9 days after pick up. I had called and was assured their were no hidden charges and everything was very strait forward. I was quoted 6000 pounds. Once it was loaded I was told by the movers I was defiantly over 6000 pounds which was fine, I had no problem paying for my extra weight. After the movers took my things I had called and emailed several times with no response to calls or emails. I rushed to get from ontario to BC becaue I wanted to be at my new house before the movers got here. We drove which took us 5 days... With a one year old. When I arrived at my new house I was informed my stuff had not even left toronto and would be delivered in 12-21 days. I told them that was not going to work and it had better be here in the next week. After numerous conversations of my husband and I yelling at them, 15 days later my things were delivered. The movers ask for the full payment before the doors were even opened. My quote was for $3500 and my bill Was $8900. They said we had 13,500 pounds which I know was a untrue. Their were tons of hidden charges. My stuff came and it was butchered. They left other peoples boxes at my house. They drove over my garden. All my glasses and plates were broken. My wood furniture was dragged across pavement or concrete. Everything is chipped and scratched. Half my bed frame was ripped right off. They took my expensive canvas photos that I had purchased and put them in large boxes with a pressure washer and chainsaw. My canvas photos were obviously ruined. They were careless and had no respect for my personal belongings. They had a second set over movers show up to help and my husband overheard the movers say they were varying just under 9000 pounds. I was charged for 13,500 pounds. I was quite angry with the movers and they apologized and said they get yelled at by a lot of people that deal with Sam. They said he always makes promises he can't keep and just tells people what they want to hear. The drivers leave with their money before you have the chance to see the damage of your belongings. They are awful and I strongly suggest going elsewhere. Also if anyone is missing a really expensive leather chair, a 52 sony flat screen tv and a kitchen aid mixer please contact me the movers left it here.

Moving

Worst company ever, they are fast to reply to your questions but once they book your move, forget it they will never replied.

Few items were damaged and they never replied, I needed to ask a chargeback to my credit card company.

They are cheaper than other moving companies.However our stuff came back damaged and damp.And what was missing they never bothered to look for it and i never got the missing item back. Over all i think irresponsible.

Move Winnipeg to Edmonton

No complaints with the pickup in Winnipeg, the crew were professional and courteous, wrapping and loading items with care. It was a very different story with the delivery. The Edmonton crew would not start unloading until we had signed the delivery slip. They were abrasive and hurried, leaving scratches on the walls, and refusing to reassemble any of the pieces the Winnipeg crew had disassembled. A couch was damp and a dresser was broken, looking as if someone might have sat on it. Boxes and furniture were dumped somewhat at random with little regard to which boxes belonged in which rooms (they were clearly marked), or if there was even room to open dressers or wardrobes. At least it appears nothing is missing.

Moving Long Distance

I have big move from Sandiago,California to Richmond,Bc.I have move many times and this was the most pleasant and cost wise affordable move.On time pick up and delivery.Nice and clean equipments and very professional crew

moving service

I want to warn all of you reading this, i just had pacific west movers move me from Bragg creek to Vancouver Island, two men turned up and delivered my things, i have no issues with their work and they were amenable to placement of the items in different rooms. However i was not left with an inventory of delivered items and upon looking through my items i only had 3/4 of load actually delivered. Bare i mind i just paid $9000 i contacted dispatch only to be told i had to email my concerns to an email address, they had no idea what the process was or how long it would take to get a reply. Noone knew where my missing items were and i am still left in the dark as to how to trackdown the rest of my things. The level of service once you pay the bill is appauling and i would not recommend this company to anyone, noone is willing to speak to you and noone replies to emails.
