Stirling Davidson Home Inspection

Please be careful if he inspects your home. He turned up the thermostat on my hot water tank for the home inspection, but didn’t turn it back down once he had finished. When we came back home our young child went to wash her hands and ended up burning them quite badly. We are not impressed.

Stirling did a great job going into every corner of the house and checking it. His recommendations are very helpful and I will be using them to maintain my home. His explanations are clear and make sense. He tags what every equipment is used for in the house. Definitely recommends him reasonable price and good service!

Stirling was an exceptional home inspector. By the time we arrived at the home, he had already been on the roof / fully inspected it.

As we went through the house, he talked us through the different aspects of the inspection and potential areas for concern. He also included tips on what to look for as part of your regular preventative maintenance program. He provided us a binder of items which included various preventative maintenance lists, our contract, and a section for the inspection report itself. Before he left the house, he gave us a verbal report of the house / details of the major concerns.

The report arrived via email <24 hours after the inspection and was also downloadable (PDF). The report included details on all inspection areas, highlighting areas of concern, a concise summary, and references for contractors to complete the deficiencies. He was very personable and mentioned that he would be available to answer any questions via phone.

We contracted Stirling for a home inspection at the recommendation of our realtor to inspect an older home we were considering purchasing. From our experience, he is an excellent home inspector and a really nice guy. He took the time to explain what he was doing and why at each step of the inspection, and more importantly, pointed out some key issues with the house that were very concerning. He was thorough, timely and provided a highly detailed report. We would use him again without hesitation.

This home inspector is very temperamental. I was late for the home inspection by about 15 minutes and he greeted me with a smart ass remark. I thought i was the one who was paying for the service? Although he is knowledgable, based on what he charges for a home inspection ($550), There are others that use the same technology and charge $400-$450

My realtor recommeded Stirling to inspect the home we wanted to purchase. It was our first time buying an older home so we were concerned with finding mold and water problems as well some other issues. Stirling was on time and was a total professional. He really took his time inspecting everything and looked at the entire house with his infared camera for mold and water. He found nothing and this really eased my mind. He went over everything with me and made sure I understood the nature of some issues and how to fix them. He also made recommendations on what was a priority to fix first as well as gave us a list of contractors. Stirling has been in the construction industry for many years as well as has built homes so his knowledge base was excellent.

One thing that I still talk about was that Stirling used to frame homes and he remembered helping to frame ours. He used to work for the builder and he was able to tell me how they built our house. This was an added bonus as it made our decision to purchase this home that much easier.

He provided us with an emailed detailed report with photos and we were overall very happy with his service. I would highly recommed him to anyone looking at a home inspection. We've been in our home for 5 months and we are thrilled with it.

Stirling Davidson inspected our 101 year old Ramsay property. He did up a big report, was very thorough and put it online for us along with a print when he was done. He was really reliable and we've ticked off the red flags in the report shortly after we purchased it. 5 years later the home is great. We've referred him to a number of friends who've all been really satisfied with his work.
This guy also does lots of charity work overseas, an awesome person to hire!
