Initially we had great first impression when we met with them and a competitive quote, but things went down hill from there. At my first meeting I raised my concerns about the slope of my drive way toward my house. They assured me that they would regrade away from my home. When work was being done I raised my concerns again regarding grading and the height of the driveway being too close the bottom of my basement windows. But I was assured all was well. The driveway looked great and all was well until the first rain. Now I've had water coming into my basement, I've spoke to them over the phone and they've been evasive, and and now are just completely ignoring me.

If water is going into your basement through the windows, the problem is with your windows and not with the asphalt - it is RIDICULOUS to insist the issue has anything to do with asphalt - asphalt is a porous material, and there is no way that it could prevent or cause water to enter into your windows. If you suggest it has anything to do with the grading, then what do you think would happen to thousands of homes over the winter months that accumulate over 30 cms of snow by the basement windows??? Have your windows properly insulated. This has already been explained to your wife, we are not ignoring you - you are ignoring the cause of your problem. Have a good day.
