Amazing work and customer service

We sold our home and needed to address the buyer's concerns about the roof. Jordan not only did an inspection but gave us an honest assessmetn without trying to get us to pay for more than necessary (unlike other roofing companies that tried to get us to pay for work we didn't need or ask for). He was friendly, honest and incredibly helpful. He took care of the roof in a flash and wouldn't even let us pay him. (But we insisted!) We can't thank him enough for the amazing service he provided us!

Saved me thousands! This company has integrity.

After another company failed to honour their warranty and flat out refused to even come out to inspect our roof to find the source of a leak, I contacted a number of roofing companies in desperation and Jordan from Claw Roofing was the first one to respond. Other companies had quoted me thousands for a fix and after Jordan climbed onto our roof and did a quick inspection he found the problem - the sealant the original company applied to fix a leak at the scupper had deteriorated, allowing water to seep through, and the fix was to apply a new layer of (better) sealant. Because I called during the dead of winter, he first applied a temporary sealant that expanded with water. Once the weather warmed up and all the snow and ice were gone and the roof was allowed to dry, he came back, removed the temporary sealant, and applied the permanent sealant. He also sealed up other spots with similar "seams" on our roof. The original company that refused to honour their warranty told me that I'd have to redesign my entire roof. Jordan came out twice and got things fixed permanently within half an hour and at a fraction of the cost of a complete roof redesign which would've been unnecessary. I am so thankful for Jordan and he will forever have my business.

Priddis Plaza

I have dealt with Claw Roofing couple of times to get repairs done at the Priddis Plaza. Jordan has always been great with returning calls after you call him and visit the site when he has scheduled you. He's very particular about the way he fixes the roof and takes photos before and after the work is complete. Very polite and friendly. Thank you for the awesome service

Emergency Inspection

We are in the process of selling our house and the buyers inspection noted snow in our attic. My wife contacted Claw Roofing about coming to have a look after Xmas to assess any issues. What actually happened is one of their team, Jordan, offered to come by our house on his way home after hours (December 23) to make sure there was no more nefarious issues with our roof as we were out of town for the holidays. Jordan provided great service and went above and beyond to help ensure we understood the issues and did his best to mitigate further issues while we were gone, giving us great piece of mind.

We used his reference for the needed repairs from another Claw associate for shingled roofing, were quoted a fair price and are currently awaiting the repair service call.

Based on the quality of service, pricing and care provided by the Claw team I would recommend them for any roofing needs.

Thanks again Claw!

Flat Roof Replacement November 2016

Do yourselves a favor and FIND ANOTHER COMPANY! Peter is difficult to deal with and full of excuses. He convinced me to put a slight slope on my flat roof. I had major leaking in 4 of my 5 units. This he explained was due to heavy snow and quick melting. Really? This is Calgary! That happens all the time and in the 25+ years I owned the building this was never an issue with the old flat roof. I could no longer keep the hot water tank in one unit lit. Had a plumber in and he tried several things. We then decided the tank needed replacing. ($800) Once replaced it still would not stay lit. (It is located in a small room that also houses 2 small furnaces). Then decided new tank was more efficient and if both furnaces kicked in at the same time as the hot water tank there was not enough fresh air in the room. Hired a contractor to cut 2 large vent holes in the door (approx. $300). It would not stay lit unless door was left open. I was becoming increasingly frustrated as I have owned property for over 25 years and had never had this problem. Peter could not figure out either. I finally decided to hire the company that had installed the furnaces and they went up on roof and "found the rain cap had been installed all the way down the pipe causing blockages and when furnace came on, it blows out the pilot light on the burner flame in the hot water tank." They also provided me with pictures of the improperly reinstalled rain caps. When I met with Peter to share pictures and the furnace company's explanation he argued that it said rain caps were installed (new ones). When I called the furnace company back they said they had not "replaced" rain cap with a new one but "replaced the old one correctly". Peter would not accept this explanation even with the pictures! I had wanted him to reimburse me for the cost of having someone up on the roof to diagnose what was wrong ($550). Needless to say he refused. So besides the roofing cost I was out the cost of a new hot water tank, (which likely did not need replacing for several years) the cost of a contractor adding ventilation holes to the door and the cost of hiring a furnace company to go up onto the roof. Two of the eavestroughs that he installed also leaked like sieves onto sidewalks my tenants use. Needless to say I did not contract him to repair these. I was tired of the excuses he gave when something went wrong. Do yourself a favor and HIRE SOMEONE ELSE!

Company Response

Hi Linda,

I am so sad to hear that your experience with Claw was less than excellent!

I understand Peter tried hard to find a resolution that would leave all parties happy, including bringing in a furnace crew on his own dime, and fixing non-roof related issues at no cost to you.

If we can be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out, as we strive to leave all of our customers satisfied with our work.

I will be in touch privately to extend further apologies.

Chelsey

Claw Roofing Job Varsity Acres Torch-on roof replacement

I live in a house that was built in 1967. Claw Roofing did an excellent job on replacing my old worn out leaking tar and gravel roof with a brand new torch-on roof. They expedited the job in view of the fact that it was already leaking and needed immediate replacement -- which was greatly appreciated. The job was done last autumn (2017) – so I have had the benefit of evaluating the roofing job over the winter months as well as through the hottest part of the summer. I can honestly say that the house was warmer and felt cozier over the winter and cooler in the summer thanks to the upgraded insulation. I am also pleased that the rain gutters work properly now. The (hot) crew was very scrupulous in replacing any rotten or deteriorating wood. The installation crew was very friendly, polite and cheerfully answered all my questions as the job progressed. The job was completed on time and the upon completion of the job, the site was thoroughly cleaned up. Peter, the company president, who initially discussed all of the available options, prepared the initial estimate and was on site numerous times to ensure the job was done to his high standards. I highly recommend Claw Roofing if you require replacement of your old tar and gravel roof with a torch-on replacement.

Feeling the difference with the new roof!

I waited until I could comment on the effects of winter since that was my main reason for getting the extra insulation and torch on roof. The whole house is definitely keeping the heat in now as Peter said. I'll see the difference in Jan or Feb when it really gets cold. I had my house re-roofed with insulation and torch on. They also did the garage with normal shingles. Both jobs were done well and the two different crews were polite and helpful to point out what was being done. Clean up was good (just a few screws in the gutters), but otherwise clean. So far I'm very happy with the results. I look forward to see how it performs in deep winter. Thanks Peter and crews.

Roof Replacment

Claw did a nice job of replacing my 25 year old tar and gravel roof. Peter was very cordial and met with me on several occasions and not only did he match any other estimate, He offered to up them all. The roof work was done in one week and the workers were efficient and walked me through everything that needed to be done. I recommend Claw to anyone who is looking to replace this type of roof.

25 Year Old Tar and Gravel Roof

They just completed the job last week so this is not a long term review. I was impressed with the quality of work during the installation process. Between the two brothers they seem to have a good process for checking and verifying each other's work so that any mistakes were caught right away. They were recommended to me by a friend and in turn I would not hesitate to recommend them as well. They replaced a low pitch tar and gravel roof for us and significantly increased the R value in the process. They seem to know the low pitch/cathedral ceiling roofing systems well. I think communication could be improved a bit on timing and progress etc, but it was no worse than other contractors that have done work for me.

Replaced old tar & gravel roof.

I contacted Claw about an estimate for replacing a 25 year old tar & gravel roof and was very impressed with the fact that the owner, Peter, phoned me back within a half hour. He came out the next day and thoroughly explained what needed to be done. He presented me with a very fair estimate (also checked out 2 other companies that were very slow in responding to my request for an estimate) and work began in just a few days. Peter's sons did the actual work and Peter himself visited the job site several times, leaving me with a very good feeling. The crew worked very hard and were extremely efficient as well as friendly. The clean-up was great. Overall, I was extremely satisfied with the entire process from start to finish and will gladly use Claw Roofing again if needed.
